Who have you been talking with? I see more people say the
Nintendo 64 and PlayStation have aged poorly than people who say they are just as good or better than they've always been.

Even looking at this with hindsight I'm not so sure it was a "mistake" to use cartridges instead of CDs. Nintendo's gaming livelihood was based upon the cartridge format all the way up to N64, so why would they want to change at that point? At the time no other CD system even came close to success.
Sega CD, CD-i, 3DO... all failures. Even Sony's PlayStation took a couple of years before it ...

Snowboard Kids 2 costs more simply because it is more uncommon. There aren't any major new features to the game, so if you liked the first game then it is a safe bet. The control is more tight so it is easier to steer your boarder, and tricks are a bit more streamlined as well. You can also now deflect oncoming shots if you perform a quick trick when it hits you. Nice. SM64 and
Ocarina of Time are my two favorite games of all time. I didn't really like starfox 64 and pokemon stadium was okay. Paper Mario is pretty decent. Did I cover them all?
