I'm still trying to get to the bottom of this one, there seems to be a lot of talk on other forums about fsx and radeon driver issues. It seems that fsx is just a re-hash of some old coding from fs9 and Microsoft kind of patched things in to make use of dual-core cpu's with SP1 and SP2. The core programming is not much different than older versions. Some older graphics cards appear to work better than new ones for some reason, still...

Ugh, so it seems the likely would be driver issues related to FSX? Looking at that review, the whole fact that not only did the 4850/4870 perform the same, but were in fact outperformed by weaker graphics cards is saddening. Guess that really goes to show FSX doesn't really care how powerful you GPU is, but more about rather the card['s driver] is even "compatible" work with the game :(. Heck, if my MoBo had...

You need to remember that trim is linked in a major way to airspeed. One trim setting at 80 knots will not keep you level at 120 knots. As a rule in learning how to trim, remember that your throttle is what makes you go up and down, and your pitching the nose up and down is what controls your airspeed. Notice when you set your autopilot to hold you at a certain altitude and increase your throttle, your speed increases, and the autopilot is...

umm....i think in the right top corner right next to the altitude set button, in the 757, it will say a/p engage then underneath there are 3 buttons, (rather then CMD A/B, my apologies), CMD L, CMD C, CMD R,(from left to right)...CMD C controls the complete autopilot (so you'd need it eg. to do a complete autoland), and CMD L &R respectively control the left and right autopilot feature... try this link because the guy in the pic is...

I had no problems with the autopilot when I was flying the 757. Didn't even touch the FMC. What problems were you having?

Is this low frame-rate only happening on FSX or does your card perform poorly with other hi-end 3D games as well? Have you run a benchmark test such as 3D mark to make sure your card is performing at it's best?

For your sensitive joystick, change the deadzone or whatever in the options. What I do is this. If I wanted to climb, I pulled back my joystick at the appropriate angle for the attitude I want. Then, depending on how high the angle of attack is, I press the end button until I can release my joystick and have it climb at the same angle. Same for descents. I guess it takes some practice to get it ...

A bad monitor/LCD wouldn't cause FS2004 to freeze. Does it do this with any other game? My theory is it could be 2 things. (1) Your video card may be going bad. (2) It could be artifacts due to over heating, which can also cause your video card to go bad. When was the last time you cleaned out the inside of your PC, all of the internal components and all of the fans?

classic problem with most aircraft, you always have to program the fmc again, there is some sort of function in the actual fmc though as far as i know that will let you save the current flight plan etc., look around for it because im not 100% sure where but its there somewhere. i think where you have the option to load the flight plan in from the microsoft flight planner around that place ...
