The setup you recommended is working nicely! I just won the first 2 matches of the tournament for the first Reel. Jumal is an awesome goal keeper! I'm glad to have got rid of that fat guy that was initially on Aurochs... I mean he's huge but barely has any endurance? That doesn't make sense. XD glad i helped. This is what I used for Penance, and I imagine it'd help somewhat for the Dark Aeons as well (though it's probably better if you replace Auto-Potion with Auto-Phoenix): Defense +20% Auto-Haste Auto-Potion Auto-Protect

When I played this game for my very first time, I completely ignored the Sphere Grid, wondering how far I could get along if I never "leveled up." I never ran away from battles, winning every single one. But by the time I got to Mi'ihen Highroad, the battles started to become a bit overwhelming for me. I've got five characters' stats to max now, including luck. I'll probably farm fortune spheres, for it. Still I was thinking about farming Attribute Spheres instead. It might actually be easier to bribe the Maelspike for 100K a pop. The Brady book says 200K gets you one Attribute Sphere from him, but of course you can bribe with less. He can't give you just half a sphere, now can he? Assuming you use any gil trick, you need...

If you can fight Dark Aeons, the standard grid might be slightly different to the US version. I only ever play the international version on expert sphere grid, and there's always enough room to max at least Str, Agi, Eva, MDef, and Def, as well as having Mag in the mid-high 100s, Acc around the low 100s, and luck around 20-30 each. So I would imagine the standard grid having more than enough room...
