Apple iPod Nano?
Published (2009-12-04 01:10:00)
I've been reading reviews at BestBuy.com, and many express concern over the volume being very low. Has anyone experienced that? It's really confusing to see all the different "generations" of the same product. I even looked at a "classic" iPod which has so much more memory, but it was mentioned in this thread that it can skip when running...this is a hard decision! Also, what's the Nike+ thing...

The volume is plenty high with headphones. The built in speakers are very low in volume. The pedometer doesn't work with running, at least for me. I don't know if it doesn't move right, or if it assumes it's noise when you hit a certain steps per minute- I'm guessing the first because I only run about 10 bpms more than fast walking. You can use the pedometer and listen to music. No idea what that person is doing wrong....

I have an Apple Ipod 4th generation and it's fabulous. Before the Ipod, I had a Creative Zen which worked great, but there's no comparison to the Ipod. I've used the Ipod on the treadmill and while doing paper workouts by Val Waters and have had no problem with the music skipping.

I love my Nano and it's fine for rebounding, running etc. What you need for running is a player that has flash instead of a hard disk (big iPods have a hard disk, which can skip). The smaller players and anything marketed for exercising typically do have flash.

I'm really intrigued with these and have been debating about getting some for years (I would need several for all my dvds). Is it as easier to make the index as everyone says?

Is it as easier to make the index as everyone says? I love my disc gears, and the index pages are easy to make because discgear provides you with the templates on their website. However, I can't get them to print as large as I'd like. This is not the ones that go in the...

I checked FAQ's for this but I may have missed it. If you have a treadmill, would you mind giving me your opinions and recommendations. I have never owned a treadmill before. Thanks in advance -

Well, I think a lot depends on whether you plan to run or walk on it, and how much use it will get. (single user or multiples?) I have a 10 year old Health Rider that they don't make anymore. It was about $1000-1200 back in the day. She's been good to me, but I think she is on her way out. I have been doing a LOT of research & highly recommend checking out treadmilldoctor.com for reviews. For my next treadmill I would like...

Pat, I was just thinking about these the other day as I saw an ad in one of my magazines. I have the Curves knock-offs that I got from Avon and I walk in them a lot. They are centainly comfy and feel good but I can't really say if they are toning my legs.

My Discgear boxes are 10 1/2" tall when fully opened...I have the Selector 80S (roundish one that hold 80 discs). My shelves are only 8" in height so I just pull out a box & set it on the top of the shelf or a nearby table when I need to get a disc.
I love them - I hope you do, too!

I'm confused: one is a running shoe and one is a crosstrainer, if I read the product descriptions correctly. Which activity are you buying the shoes for? You didn't mention running, so why are you contemplating a running shoe?

Keep in mind that almost everything in that store eventually goes on sale (usually to about 50%) and they regularly send out coupons if you are on their email and mailing list.
I go in once a month to check the sale rack and usually find something at a good price. I really don't wear their clothes to workout in, I wear their casual stuff for running errands, playing with the kids, etc.

I have always used green Superfeet , but I have a hiking friend (he frequently does six-month hikes, so I assume he knows his stuff) who stopped using those in favor of Ed Viesturs inserts and says he'll never look back. I do not know whether the Ed Viesturs are good for plyo work or running. The next time I need inserts, I'm going to have to compare the two brands.

Well darn, I was hoping for some responses. If you wear a smaller size, 4 or 6 you may want to hit your local sportings goods store and try on some children's Armour All or under armour or whatever that brand is.
I'm a little chunky and that is super hard to find. Even just pants to run in. I've been cutting off 10 dollar Danskin pants from walmart. So I need a petite medium.
