Black Friday Pre-rumor ... Dell...

Dell offered the Mini10 for $199 last spring I think. One of my coworkers bought one and turned it into a Hackintosh. If they are running the special again I would assume it's going to be direct from Dell.

Thanks guys just trying to find somewhere that gives me free shipping on either Fantom drive you ever see Newegg have free shipping while a rebate is going on? Do you think the rebate is good from any site that sells the Fantom drives or only from sites that list that rebate I've noticed some don't mention a rebate TigerDirect is an example?

Can Nvidia Tuner box be modded...

In the first JPEG, I only see video and audio output cables from the computer. No type of power cable. And I would doubt that a USB connection would supply enough power, especially from a laptop. USB is 5VDC, limited to 500ma. (1/2 Amp) The box may also run on 12VDC, also available in a computer. You would be better off to use a 'wall wart' DC power supply, but you would have to know the correct voltage and amperage the device...

What did you add to the box after you purchased it and how long have you owned it? You might be OK with a 300W as long as your video card isn't drawing much power. But if it's getting up on 4-5 years old you might want to replace it just to be safe.

Like you say they all are priced similar and the drives are probably 5400 RPM at that price. The case SATA to USB2 circuitry or power supply are what fail most on these. Go with the one with the best name and warranty. Most come unformatted so they can be used with a variety of OS. Others pre-format NTFS.

My PC is custom built and is running Windows 2000. A week ago, I noticed when I started up the computer, it would go to this screen that checks your desk for consistencies. But the power light on the computer and fans are ...

There is a Windows 7 specific version of MS' virtual PC, with a Windows XP image ready to go. You can use it, according to M$ at least, to run legacy XP software from the Win7 environment, while they use the VM in the background. It is called XP Mode. You can get it here : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/downlo ad.aspx However while getting the link I noticed that you are ...

Thanks for the link, it was really helpful. But I'm still unclear about the DirectX 9 graphic device requirement. That website doesn't list my current graphic device which is Intel Extreme Graphics 2 integrated in Intel 865G chipset. Does anyone know if that's compatible too?
