Ok that is what I will do, although I don't want to bring attention to not wanting to eat meat to the friend I'm with. Just not worth her questioning, lol. I eat lots of vegetarian around her anyway, but I guess I just don't want people's opinions right now. This is only my 9th day, so it's sort of hard telling people right now. I just feel I shouldn't have to justify my actions to anyone. I guess I should just...

So what's your favorite vegan hot dogs? A lot of the ones I've tried in the past tasted super nasty, the only one I like is Morningstar Farms hot dogs but they're not vegan. Any good ones out there?

I use the "light" earth balance butter because it's vegan. I like it pretty well.
As far as having "too much fake butter"...too much of anything can have a negative impact, but I have never heard of anything about fake butter in particular. It has to be better for you to use too much "fake" butter than to use too much dairy butter!

You should specifically ask for no fish sauce. I do. It depends on the restaurant. If they have a number of vegetarian options on the menu and written as such. I figure that they are aware of different dietary issues and try to support people's needs.
I tell them I can't eat fish sauce. They probably assume that I am allergic. I don't elaborate. Let them assume what they want. I just don't ...
