Today was my one week mark! I am very excited and I feel great. I firmly believe that this is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Which is good, I need that kind of momentum going into Thanksgiving next week.

Well I stopped eating meat when I suddenly decided it was gross one day so I didn't want to eat it any more. But I've found a lot of people say what you're saying, how they lose the taste for something they used to enjoy and it now tastes bad. Rice and beans and pasta are very easy to make, and they occupy a large portion of my diet. What do you typically eat now? That way we can help you vegetarianize your current diet, which will be much easier than attempting to switch to an entirely different slate of dishes.

Do some research on easy to cook veggie recipes using ingredients that you most likely have around the house anyway. As you start accumulating recipes that you know and like, you start branching out more, getting a little more adventurous with the foods that you try. I don't know why it's assumed that a person who doesn't eat flesh or animal byproducts would eat soy. I refrain from it. It's not necessary to eat it.

I don't see how it's "cheating" Is it an animal? No Does she think it's cheating if you eat tofu or mushrooms? I'd just say "um, ok" and not even argue. LOL

By vegetarian lifestyle do you mean vegetarian diet ? You can get enough daily protein with both diets , but on a veg*n diet your body won't spend as much energy digesting meat . Ever hear of Bill Pearl ? Are you going to fight other women AKA foxy boxing ?
