Vegan Coffee Creamer

Silk creamer with some powdered coconut cream mixed in. You get the powdered coconut cream at a large Asian market. It's very rich and decadent. I used to use that all the time but weaned myself to plain Silk creamer - or Trader Joes makes a pretty similar product (probably made by Silk FOR Trader Joes as most of their products are made by "brand name" companies sold under TJ's label).

Try Mimicreme. It's nut based and is way thicker than Silk creamer.

thanks guys. on your advice I filled my order up with some cashews, and various dried fruits - including dried tomatoes, yum, I'm thinking they could be good in savoury scones! but with spending £17+ when all I wanted was some wheat gluten, homemade seitan had better be bloody good

Do salted nuts (i.e. in cans & trail mix) have the same nutritional value as nuts you buy in the shell? Or are they just a healthier-sounding junkfood?

... now what?!?! Can any one suggest a good way (re foolproof) way of cooking this stuff that is guaranteed to hook my omni boyfriend? If i mess this up the first time it'll be so hard to convince him to try it again. Oh and what's the flavour/texture like when you do it right?

Any unique or original recipes? As a main dish preferably. It doesn't matter what kind of mushroom or cooking/preparation style. Vegan please? Thanks.

Hey all! I was wondering if anyone knew of a really good vegan coffee creamer. I've tried the Silk brand and it's just too thin. Also, I have tried a variety of vegan milks but have the same problem. Any suggestions?

Anyone have a tried and true vegan recipe? I have looked at a few but I always get confused by egg replacement or the amount. I have zucchini's coming out of my ears and I'm going to grate a few and freeze later for bread. TIA

Apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere, but due to the apparent elusiveness of Vital Wheat Gluten in the UK, I've decided to make the gluten from scratch. Does anyone know if it is ok to use wholemeal flour? as most of the recipies I've read specify plain white flour.

Now that I've finally moved out of my university halls (little celebration dance ) and am able to start properly cooking again, I thought it would be nice to make some seitan 'Cause I'm in the UK, I'm going to buy my wheat gluten from here: http://flourbin.co.uk/ Minimum order is £10. I *really* don't think I need £10 worth of wheat gluten until I've tried making it at least once! I don't ...

There's these amazing vegan cookies on vegweb, they are soooo good. I don't bake much and don't know much about flour, etc But I want to make these healthier. What can I subistute for the flour? Whole wheat flour? Brown rice flour? Some kinda spealt flour? What about the sugar? Is the raw turbinado about as healthy as it gets for sugars? Any other subistutes? How about the oil? Thanks

So I'm armed with my vegan cook books and I'm putting together a grocery list but man, this isn't easy. With all of the recipes making multiple servings I'm going to have lots of left overs, which would be great if I were into eating the same thing all the time, but I'm not. I could just take the recipes and divide them by 1/4 and just make enough for myself but then what would i do with ...

Right now I'm in a place where I don't have much access to cooking. I usually stay away from processed food but I saw that amy's uses all whole and mostly organic ingrediants(like in their soups, burittos, etc). I don't see any perservatives. But what about additives? And sodium? Also same question about like whole foods or trader joe brand organic canned beans and instant rice? Thanks

I just discovered this wonderful veggie at my local farmer's market. If you've never tried it, I highly recommend it! To me it tastes like a cross between a potato and cauliflower. I found a recipe online for braised kohlrabi. It was wonderful. My husband loved it too! I still have more raw kohlrabi leftover and I'd love to try it cooked another way. Does anyone have any favorite kohlrabi recipes...

I just wanted to let everyone who shops at these stores know what I found out about some ingredients in their store brand products. The Mono & and diglycerides and Lactic Acid they use is vegetable derived so for those of use still buying processed food I guess this is good news.

i wanted to try stevia as a sweetener, but could only find leaves. i thought it was sold as a powder? i ended up buying the leaves, because that's all i could find, and they seem to be for use as a tea. it was pretty good, if unusual, but since i want to use it as a sweetener, would it work to make it into powder by crushing the leaves?
