I agree with ganymeder about Little Brother and Things , but disagree with both of you on Someone Comes to Town, Someone Leaves Town . I loved it! I found it kind of dreamy and surreal...sort of like science fiction and magic realism's orphan love child. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but it's my favorite Doctorow. So far.

I just read Forever Odd and really enjoyed it too. Except one thing nagged at me the entire book. In the first book (Odd Thomas), he said that only 4 people knew his secret: the sheriff, Ozzie, his fiance, and his female boss. In this book, another friend is mentioned who also knows his secret and it is more than implied that the friend has known his secret for years and years. Inconsistencies like that really annoy me as if in "real...

I read that book a few years ago and don't remember the ending being particularly disappointing (I just read a plot summary). What didn't you like about it?

I have small wrists (around 6", maybe a smidge under), but I like my bracelets to fit tightly. Cuffs are my favorite, they stay put -JK

Here are pics of my homemade beadweaving looms and some stuff that I've made. The looms are made from picture frames, string, rubber bands, cardboard tubes, wooden dowels and one turnbuckle (the only thing that I purchased for this project - $1.49 ).
The big loom, mounted on a stepladder (before I got an easel):...

In my son's art class for school (he schools at home) the course outlined how some artists used eggs mixed with tempura paint to make the colors shinier. An option given was to mix them with glue instead. We did that, but honestly it didn't seem very shiny. There are probably other options you could mix in as well... maybe experiment with vegetable oil or something.
