Those interactions always get me too, BM, even if dogs are supposed to be perfect and never pull or tangle. bc: Not ! I still have Zoe's last baby tooth (which she lost a few days before I brought her home--Foster Mom was kind enough to tape it to the adoption packet for me). How old is Luna now?

yeah, it's not about being well-off. It's about their environmental, labor, and business practices. Being in a WalMart free bubble is pretty easy in Seattle, which won't allow WalMart inside city limits (so, KaliMama and I are not the only anti-WalMart folks out there). http://www.veganrepresent.com/forums...ead.php?t=2683 It's surprisingly easy to not shop there in some areas of the country, and much harder in other areas...

I also live in a Wal-Mart free bubble. My dogs' beds are stuffed with old clothes and fluffy blankets. I got them (the beds, not the old clothes or the dogs) here: molly mutt stuff sacks eta: it has nothing to do with whether or not I "can afford to not shop at Wal-Mart" ( ). I choose not to because I find Wal-Mart's practices ethically reprehensible. I shop at thrift shops and occasionally dumpsters, so it's...

I pick up daily. I know other people who rarely pick up, and by rarely I mean every several months or perhaps once a year. :blech:

I don't know about your bird, but sometimes we do have to put them out of their misery. I saw a turtle on the road, and by the time I'd turned my car around to help him he got hit, and had a gaping crushed hole in her shell. She bled all over the floor of my car, but I took her to my grandpa, and he took her out back and killed her quickly. Not quite the same as doing it myself (I was kinda ...

Thanks for the thread, Sonja.
My position is indoor non-vegan cats. I have had seven cats, all but the first one were recused strays. My first cat, Orpheus, taught me that animals have intellegence, emotions, and lead me to vegetarianism.
He taught me to relate to cats and I'm sure that lead to the six cats that followed.
All my cats have been imprisoned indoors for their own good, ...

backyard critters
A beautiful cardinal and his cute little girlfriend frequent my new backyard. I've seen (and heard, he's a loudmouth!) him every day this week. Either the neighbors are feeding them something delicious, or there's something in my yard that they like.
Who comes to visit your yard? Pics are a bonus!

My dog only plays with the cats' toys. Oftentimes we find their stuffed
catnip toys in a soggy unstuffed mess. Go figure.

I know this isn't the kind of "Stupid Pet Question" you were talking about, but it's still a funny story:
When Kohla was alive, I was walking her on the university campus at the beginning of a fall semester. This is the time of year when hordes of young college students congregate, socialize, flirt with each other, hook up, get involved, etc. Basically, everybody is checking everybody else ...
