I too have the same problem, it started a few months ago, the engine management light came on and the fuel consumption dropped from an average 34mpg to 18mpg on a bad day, (I saw it return a 5mpg when I decided to boot it hard) I left it for ages but it never corrected and when they started putting fuel prices up again i really stated feeling it , so that was my kick to get it checked, The EML...

and what vectra have you got engine and year and someone should be able to help better. the preface and facelift have a different layout, so i'm unsure if the 2 are compatible. daves.cavy why would the rev's be out on different clocks as the revolutions per minute are of the engine speed regardless of how many cylinders. sticky depending on whereabouts you are someone may be able to help...

IIRC, the bulb connectors for the front lights will need changing too.

Could be water pump. If they didn't change it when doing the head gasket it could of knackered the seal hence your problems.
