Hi Heather, Sarah definitely needs to call the doctor right away. Do you know if they had their VR here? What she is describing are signs of infection and he may need an antibiotic. This is NOT normal. Sometimes when the stitches are starting to dissolve the incision opens as it is healing from the inside out. Our reversal was with Dr. R. three days ago. DH was in pain during the 10-15 minutes Dr. R. located the vas on the right side. It was hard to watch, but eventually eased off once numb. The left side was not as painful. DH had braced himself for the pain, but Dr. R. made a larger incision on the scrotum and didn't have to manipulate as much to get the vas.
