Classes retaken in college.
Published (2009-12-19 17:04:00)
Our members don't see this ad. Just curious but how does UMHS calculate sGPAs when a student has retaken a class? Do they average both grades together and use that, or do they factor in both previous and retaken classes all together? What if a student has the same score the 2nd time around, if they use the former method for calculating GPA? Just trying to get an idea on how to calculate my sGPA.

Cath, I'm not sure where you are getting your numbers from, but we have no indication that the numbers will even be that high. I think the incoming students will be very pleased again with the faculty to student ratio. You're going to get lots of face to face time with your profsessors. Of course, that means they will know every one of you by sight. We'll know if you're not in class!

5th Semester in Portland Maine -...
Published (2009-12-19 22:22:00)
just to clarify for WSU- UMHS is building the new campus in South Portland, so there are no classes in Portland anymore. The new campus should be up and running any day, and part of it is already being used. It is right across from Maine Mall- only minutes from extended stay, which is quite a benefit if it snows And Bubble- Gorham is a beautiful area if you can find a place there. Check out newspapers in the area too

Just wondering if there are students that are starting in Maine this semester could keep the rest of us updated on your experience there, like housing, food and other things.

Well you're only suppose to have on essay which is your personal statement and it should include all those subjects you mentioned above.
Mine was 2 pages long (i started with 4) and I just made it single spacing and a bit smaller font. I find it hard to make your Med school essay only 200 words. I think the max they want is a 1000.
Your personal essay is VERY important so if I were you i'd ...

I'm sure that Ross vet students will find some humor in the fact that half of them have been robbed or raped. Since we have just gone through a very complete review regarding crimes against our students and on island, I'm in a fairly good position to give some facts. And the first fact is that much of what you read about crime is exaggerated. Don't get me wrong. People are not lying or even ...

I liked the histo book by Ross. It teaches you a bunch, probably more than the high yield review book. And it's not too big so easily readable during the semester.
I like Haines for neuro, definitely helps a lot in the lab part for IDing brains and stuff
