I don't think its meant to have a leg guard. If you did mount one, it would probably interfere with the lean angle and drag while cornering. I don't think it would be safe. I'd find an R1 forum and ask around. It seems to be of that family of race bikes.

It is kind of a dumb bike. Triumph won the contest to see how much engine can be crammed into a conventional cruiser frame. The Rocket is butt ugly to my eye, but somehow it grows on you. I like riding mine a lot, especially on the freeway. It is like riding in a car. It does OK in the curves but takes a lot of push and pull to get it around. Smaller bikes corner more quickly. Never rode a Rune and think they're kinda ugly, however I do ride a Valkyrie Standard and I have to say it's an awesome bike in every way...love it! Dependable and powerful, would never sell it. BTW, it's a Boxer engine not an in-line, same set up as the BMW. Don't know the physics behind these types of engines but they do get up and go. A slight crack of the throttle and you're gone...
