It will not be dangerous to use 18" snow tyres but smaller ones are much cheaper AND the narrower the footprint of the tyre the better it will cut down into snow/slush etc and give better traction.' I had a new A4 S line avant on hire in bavaria this summer and with 18" rims fitted it tramlined very badly on poor road surfaces following the camber etc . On my Corrado I run 215/40 x 16 tyres in the summer but 185/55 x 15...

missing wire hook
Published (2009-12-05 20:31:00)
Hello, I am missing the wire hook from my 2005 VW Touareg. It is used to remove the covers of the wheel nuts and it looks like a hexagon key. Any shops that sell these or anybody knows part number to replace? Thanks a lot, Nikolas

Hello! What a shame You didn't reply earlier I have bought 235/40/18 winters already I've heard that opinion as well, but noone said its danger to drive WINTER 235. Aww... Nevermind, hopefully I have just to go to Poland, car stays in garage for 3 weeks (rigth-hand drive ) and must be enough to back home (UK) after this time. I hop I'll survive on 235 even when it's snowing! Thank You anyway very much! Next Year I'll...

I've just come back from a long weekend in Berlin and 95% of the cars there were running on steel wheels/smaller diameter alloys and snow tyres. It defeats the purpose putting winter tyres on 18/19 rims as the width of the tyres required causes as many problems . All the Audis, BM's and Mercs seemed to have 16" wheels fitted instead of 17/18" ones . My cousin who lives in Bavaria runs 16" ...

the wheels your looking at are 5x100/5x112 35-45 57.1. from a 108 you wont find a pcd to fit but you can go mad and change the hub. direct swap for the older a4 hub 5x100 35-45 57.1 hope this helps

No mate, don't worry about it, its only a very slight change so won't be noticeable on the speedo. would only need re calibrating if you were making the overall diameter a few inches bigger or smaller

They came in 17"(!) and18" flavours on the audi TT 225 and some a3. They were the wrong offset and are multifit(made by Ronal) but have different part number to the genuine Rs4's... I was not implying that you were wrong, just making it clear. However, genuine RS4 alloys sell for much money and punters allways like cheap wheels, hence the replica's being available. There are also lots off ...
