Yes possible.
Just plug the "weaker" speaker to the rear channel output of the
soundcard.
You will have a 4.2 system.
Pros: 4 channel on the cheap and adjustable bass (if the 2.1 on the rear channel has adjustable bass).
Cons: Need to calibrate front and rear channels manually. Possible mismatch of audio due to different sat speakers.

Audioengine A5, period. The Wharfedales will need an amp to power them, the A5s don't. Granted, the diamonds are probably cheaper than the A5s, but when you add in the cost of an amp, it'll be quite a fair bit more. It's best to get a good amp ($$$) to power them, rather than getting some
cheapo amp, cos they'll sound like garbage with lousy amps.
Either way, it will still cost ...

sorry... tried the Monster and found them to be over-priced like bose. There's lot's of good
earphones out there at that price range that out performs it. But once again ... only my own opinion.
