Playing games out of sequence
Published (2008-11-21 12:39:00)
I played the recent Spider-man 2 game before playing the first movie game Spider-man and I must say, I'm happier for doing that. I couldn't really play much of the first Spider-man without using the level select code. Seriously, try out Spider-man 2 if you want Spider-mans gaming. I look forward to renting the new Spider-man one. Web of Shadows I think?

Good Free Indie Games
Published (2008-11-22 00:01:00)
I would go through all of Anthony's Indie Nation posts and just grab all of them. They're not all good, but it's one of the easiest ways to get free indie games. Also, check out the Game Maker forums.

Inverted controls, freakish or not?
Published (2008-11-21 14:48:00)
Inverted control come from the aviation world. You Pull the stick toward you (which could be translated as down on a d-pad) to go up. You push the stick away from you (up on d-pad) to go down. the concept translates well to FPS since the view is similar with the reticule.

Game soundtracks.

The music never really stood out to me in that game. Maybe because I was too busy trying to figure out WTF was going on. Anyway, thanks for the tip I shall download and hope.

Does anyone happen to know of a site that has previews and pictures of all the available premium themes? Currently, I'm using the free one given at the G.O.W. 2 launch, but I think this is the only time I'd be interested in acquiring at least 1.

God damn. I just recently purchased an Xbox 360 and it seems like only yesterday I was looking forward to the 'big three' RPGs that were slated for later release. I bought Infinite Undiscovery, played about 3 hours so far, and am thoroughly disappointed. Well whatever, surely the other two would be good, right? Well I pre-ordered Last Remnant when it was only 40 bucks on Amazon, and was ...

I've been playing Earthbound recently as well. I've got to do some level grinding to move on now, though. I also finished Cave Story last night which I found out about on this site. That game is great and any fan of Metroid, Castlevania or old-school gaming in general needs to check it out. Also, I've been playing New Super Mario Brothers but only when I'm on the throne.

So your ready for "THE" plunge. You have to look at a couple of things first. 1. How many hours do you usually put into games? 2. Do you lose track of time when playing video games? 3. Do you get easily addicted to games you play? 4. Is your social life going good? If your answers to the above questions were not good then the answer to this question will eventually be no. 5. ...

I don't know about you guys but when I was a kid I couldn't really afford to buy all the latest games as and when they came out. I usually relied on birthdays and Christmas time to get my latest gaming fix and I would play the games that i got until steam came out of the cart slot. So it stands to reason that there are a handful of games that I have always dreamed of playing through ...

My good friend (whom is a reformed World of Warcraft addict) filled me in on how he made close friendships with people in his clan. Many of them were American's who seem to love the Australian accent (God knows why) and after many raids and battles he was told that if he ever traveled to the States then he would practically have a place to crash in every state. Which is awesome. ...

I'm entirely inconsistent in what I use for control schemes. I think I use normal more than inverted though. Apparently I own this topic now due to super timewarping.

Kay, guys what is something fun to do with a new Dell Laptop? (my Dad took the Vista off and switched it to XP for me so there's zero slowdown.) I'm talking about the good stuff like Cave Story or Ragdoll Masters... What's that physics based fighter where you rip off your opponents limbs? I think we have a laptop games thread, but I don't think we have a thread for indie games...

With Metal Slug 7 coming out in a few days I thought I'd make a topic about the Metal Slug series. So what are your thoughts and experiences with it? For me the first game will always be the best. It came out of nowhere and the graphics, animation, gameplay and gore all blew me away. I even bought the crappy PS1 port before I finally got the Saturn version. Metal Slug 3 is my ...

I was thinking today about how there are many sequels to the games we play. It brought back a fond memory of playing Resident Evil 3: Nemesis for the first time. I played Resident Evil 3 before I played any of the other Resident Evils. I started at a third game in a series, and it did not affect or spoil anything when I went back and played the previous titles. Resident Evil 3 is the only title I...

Hey guys, I'm looking for a bit of input. I'm working on writing a series of articles on gaming habits--this one pertaining specifically to why we hold onto our games after completing them; and I need a bit of input for research. Good news is that it's a pretty interesting topic (at least this is how I feel) and it can be an interesting thread. So here are my questions: In your youth (...

My favorite band on the planet is going to be doing covers of "My Girl" and "Let's Live For Today", plus 20 others for Shellshock 2. A vinyl soundtrack comes with the Playstation 3 version of the game. I am ecstatic. Holy fuck. Whaddya guys think?

If Square Enix came out with a GIANT Final Fantasy boxed set that game out with EVERY Final Fantasy game. #1 through 12. I wouldn't care how much the set would cost. There are tonnes of FF games in the series that I have never played, and would looooooove to try out. I would fap soooo hard.

HOLY SHIT this game is awesome, lol! I can't wait for the 18th. I love you Valve. I love you so much. I can't even find the words to describe how fun the demo is. I'm thinking of buying it for my older brother this Christmas. He needs a break from the wife and kids to kill some zombies with me, hehe. Steam's gift feature is pretty slick. What do you guys think? Anyone else ...
