I have a '95 Mitsu Mirage and I have neglected it for too long. I can't afford to waste money trying to find the problem and would much better like to find it out and then have someone fix it. Perhaps someone here could assist me in locating my problem (Hopefully). It's hit or miss...When I fire it up it might idle or it may fire up and sound very sludgy and not. In these cases it smells like the fuel is not sufficiently...

i had the same problem with a peugoet .i did the same replaced glow plugs ,and it turned out to be that the starter motor was not spinning fast enough.you can try and jump start it with another battery in the morning and see if it starts better.also have your battery tested.

it sounds like you have a speed limiter fitted ,,if it a ford one they can be reprogrammed but sorry its out of my league,,

Might be worth checking earths at battery and engine , also wiring at starter motor / solenoid .

Know what you mean re. space to work on engine , the guys that design the cars should be made to repair / work on them .
