Anyone out there from Florida? Anyone hear about noms from the senators? I have only seen one post from cjs about the senator noms. I think only a few congressman have released their noms too.

LOA and Application Status
Published (2009-12-22 00:26:00)
LOA = Letter of Assurance. Essentially, it is a letter informing the candidates that WP is reserving a slot for them, sometimes pending other unfinished business (medical, CFA, etc.). Based on what I've seen and heard there is no rhyme or reason for the issuance of these LOA's. At first, it was thought they were mainly sent to future athletes but lately I've discovered they are very random and not so common.

Heard from Specter's office today and I didn't get the nomination for USMA, which is fine because that nomination wouldn't have really mattered for me. Still waiting to hear from Casey for Navy.

JROTC nomination to Air Force...

guardianvg, If there is an application, we sure haven't been able to find one either. It sounds like my daughter's AFJROTC instructor did the same as yours. He simply wrote a letter recomending her for a JROTC nomination and faxed it to USAFA admissions. She already has an LOA and we're waiting on a congressional nominations to come out. We're trying to cover all the bases.

Definitely get as many options as you can! It gives the Academy more ways to get your daughter in. Best of luck!

It means that you are triple qualified: scholastically, medically and physically.
To be considered for an appointment, one must be 3Q'd and have a nomination.

Mark, I do not know about the AF, but can say as you mentioned, USMA and USNA had the printable forms, and you simply have the JROTC Senior Officer Instructor fill them out, and attach the supporting documentation. I use this loosely because we applied for the JROTC nomination( airforce) , but used it for USMA and USNA. The exception is for the cross service approval it had to be an AFJROTC honor ...

NJ 2nd. DD had interviews in November for both Senators at Middlesex County College, and an inteview in December for our Congressman in Mays Landing.
She is only looking for a USNA nom.
I am personally not expecting to hear anything until late January, based on everything I have read about how it was done last year. DD is focused on school so probably isn't killing herself every day...

Well, if no one else will answer this I'll give it a shot.
I do know USMA does offer LOA's without complete applications. My son had two friends from SLS that he knows got offered an LOA before the application window had even started in August, based just on what they had submitted for SLS. No essays yet. No teacher recommendations. They received an email telling them that if ...
