2002 BMW 325i Problems Bogging Down
Published (2009-11-19 17:22:00)
Hi all, Been having problems with my 2002 325i. It's a five speed manual and whenever the car gets to around 3500-4000 RPM's the entire car essentially bogs down. It's as if the car isn't receiving any gas past this threshold. In second gear the RPM's refuse to get past 4000 RPM's even with the gas fully depressed. It has similar problems in every other gear, just second was the gear I chose to test it in. The...

Engine start problem
Published (2009-11-21 19:03:00)
Interesting thing happened to me this week. I installed an intake to the car on sunday and this days the car has had an improvement. When I turned the car on, rev went really low and had to start the car again but now when I turn the car on revs still go low and then normal again but doesnt turn off. Does this help a little on figuring out what my cars problem might be?

I take that to mean the emissions monitoring functions of the engine management system is hunting for a suitable fuel/air mixture to set the idle, and can't do so, probably because of a vacuum leak, as Big Evil suggested. O2 sensor may also be at play here.

Could be a number of things but I'd start by checking for vacuum leaks, then move on to sensors, but that would require a scan tool.

Here's a video for removing the Hub/Bearing on a 330i. Perhaps it'll give you some more insight on what to do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU2xSBvXA5g Hope it helps. Good luck!

Sounds like the linkage to the door handle has popped off and the window is pushing on it and opening the door for you when you roll it down. Generally a quick easy fix.

Usually just a trim tool and about 20 minutes worth of time, the trick is to not exert excessive force on the parts you aren't replacing. The plug on the back usually has a sliding section that unplugs the pins (when slid in one direction), and then replugs the new bit in (when slid back).
