Four wheel drive is unnecessary in an Alfa.

I'll stick with a girl with a bicycle, and it's not a track/performance-oriented bicycle either.

I put a big dent in it, gearbox was on its way out, needed a few tyres replaced, and I missed having a manual anyway.

I don't think it has to be top of the heap to be fitting in with Ferrari's heritage. The 599 is the top of the line GT/Sportscar and the California is more an entry level GT. I don't think that's too far a stretch. All this being said, just because in my view it fits in with Ferrari's heritage doesn't mean it's good. The magazines have said it is, but I wouldn't have one.

I read an interview with him (I believe it was in CAR) and he seemed pretty smart. I suspect he was telling the board a lot of things they didn't want to hear so they bounced him.

Alfas used to be among the best driver cars out there, especially considering they were kinda "cheap".Weak sales (mainly because people moved on wanting something else) and weird management decisions transformed it into another wannabe german company. They are still among the best fwd everyday cars, but they lack the sportiness of the past. The Brera IS good looking in real ...
