When you have a chance, please post a picture of Tom's tat -- it sounds like an awesome design and message and I would love to see it! And please share your success with the cake in a jar! I realize there are a lot of people to process but why do they get yanked around so much? It seems like they don't know from one minute to the next what's going on. I still have not heard from my son and have no idea how he is getting home. Last time we talked he is supposed to be with the 2/9 but haven't heard from him since Friday. 321, I do! My son is graduating this Friday, Nov. 13th and have 7 days of RA before reporting on December 1st. I know another recruit from the Knoxville, TN area has the same schedule as my son. What state are you guys from? And your son must have graduated Foxtrot? We prayed for them during the Crucible!

Chris, I remember someone posting a shuttle that runs to some of the airports. It's a flat fee and they include round trips for when they go back to base. I will look to see if I can find where it is...what unit is your son attached to? Mona

Hey Gregsmom, We made the drive to take our son to report in on Dec 1st. We had no trouble getting on base with our driver's license, registration and proof of insurance. I am sure the guards will be checking in quite a few parents on the 22nd and 23rd. We stayed at the Inkeeper. It was clean and had a great breakfast. My son is 0311 but doesn't graduate ITB until January 22nd. I know exactly what you mean though about enjoying not enjoying. i'm incredibly proud of him and I want to be so supportive of him and I am but.....WHY did it have to be Infantry right?

my son told me the church service he would like to go to is at 5pm or 6pm? but that libery is usually over at 5:45 so they haven't been able to go yet, he misses it but prays on his own.
