All weeks should be working up to the prescribed rep max. Never walk in and try to lift your max without spending a good 10-20 mins+ (depending on your level) doing warm-up sets, which should be easy but gets the blood flowing and gets you accustomed to the weight. For example, if you bench 100kgx1, that probably means you can get about 5 reps with 85kg at a push. So your workout looks like this: 20kg (bar) x lots x a couple of sets 40kg x 5...

Food choices could be changed and that would make you lose some fat. Add in more green veg. Brown rice. Swap fast carbs like honey for more oats. Brown bread is **** it may aswell be white get sprouted grain bread. No milk at bed time rather having a whey shake with water and some good fats to make up the same amount of calories.

Better to personalise a diet?
Published (2009-11-05 10:55:00)
You have to bear in mind that the 2.5 stone you lost was the 'easy' portion of the weights loss. When you start off way overweight your body reacts to any sensible diet by shedding weight. However a lower carb diet tends to have a more protein sparing effect and means you can hang on to more muscle as you drop the weight. Going from about 15% bf downward is where, I find, it becomes tricky, and then it's useful to follow advice...

SEA KELP!?

Got a bottle of sea kelp 30mg tabs of 500. I know this is quite a good supp to take in terms of general health/weigh loss and to maintain a healthy thyroid. but how much mg should a "bodybuilder" take? cant find any useful information on the web anywhere.

Sadly, the 9lbs you lose, unless you are geared up to the eyeballs will NOT just be fat. I bet you have at least 9lbs of water that will come off first. Realistically you can lose 0.5% a week. Possibly a little more, given that you are going from 20 to 15 (it's easier than going from 15 to 10). So you are looking at 8 weeks or so IMO, certainly within 2 months. Get your calories right ...

the thing to remember when companies tell you the max amount to take they keep it low to be on the safe side. i can't take the capsules with the herbal eph i feel sick straight away. if thats what you've got just watch the caffeine too much in a few hours can give you shakes bad & you really need to watch the aspirin. i use the eph hcl & on the tub the max dose is between 75mg & 100mg (they ...

At maximal heart rate the carbs you burn are ATP and creatine phosphate (PCr)... but at lower heart rate you convert glycogen (your bodys main carb store) to this and will also breakdown some muscle tissue (especially if dietary carbs are low). A basic way to look at it is that fat requires a lot of chemical changes to be liberated for energy and so can only provide a 'slow trickle' of energy,...

As long as you're still under your daily caloric requirement.... yes you'll lose fat. Gaining muscle whilst losing weight is unusual. Genetically gifted individuals or newbie trainers may be able to do it. Don't plan on it.
