If a franchise is doing all the selling for you and all you have to do is literally turn up and do the appointments that they've booked, then the management fee is going to be hyper high to reflect the amount of effort and expense that they've put in. Effectievely you're a branch/employee rather than a franchise, and need head office management. So, in the end, you end up with no more in your pocket, you just have to do more...

I recently joined the AngelInvestmentNetwork, paid the fee, and have been in contact with 8 interested investors. The problem I'm having is that despite my proposal being detailed, it is not a formal business plan. As my idea is for a web startup, a lot of the detail generally required in a business plan isn't really relevant. What has happened so far is that the people tell me they are very ...

I find it quite amazing how many people try to sell ad space on their websites are such high rates by claiming to receive huge amount of traffic. Is there any reason that something like Alexa would show stats that are completely different to what the media owner claims? I mean would a site claiming to get 40,000 uniques every week really be ranked over 9,000,000 on Alexa? I know Alexa is ...

What makes us like this? My partner has worked in the "safety net" of the same industry for 25 years. Hes a fantastic writer, artist, but never draws on these skills. Is it some people take risks? Its a shame because some of the most talented people, dont take advantage (I think due to lack of confidence) of their skills, I find it sooooo frustrating

How is it planners fault? It is a good thing that we have kept the countryside so intact over last 50 yrs. I would say we are less urbanised that most European countries as most european city centres have large resident populations . Planners are looking to increase housebuilding, well some anyway but it is local residents who bring things to a grinding halt.

I agree about QSL Tenders - I subscribed to their free trial and cancelled via email before the 15 days was over. Of course they claimed not receive this email and charged me £400. I found their staff to be unhelpful and their MD refused to return my calls. Be careful if you sign up!

I just have to have a rant, and may get shot down by other suppliers. Basically, I am trying to purchase goods online at pennies. Don't worry I'm not selling an ebook! I thought for a bit of fun we could see what UKBF members would do if they were tasked with turning £1 into £100. So, how would you do it and how long would it take you? You must observe all UK laws including laws against begging and theft/robbery.

Does anybody know the process involved with creating your own soft drink? I know there is some kind of health regulatory agency you have to go through but I'm not sure of the right steps to take foward. If anybody has any knowledge of this market and would like to give me some advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot for your time
