If you are happy with that mark up.. then go for it. Have you built in your costs about finding/vetting the subcontractors that you have to find for the work required? What would a 10% mark up net you in the final analysis? Have you built in a %age should something go wrong? I am sure you guys have done your homework.. so friends... good luck! Hope everything goes well for you.

This is exactly the sort of thing that happens to directors who believe they should put all their trust in their IP, without having anyone to look after _their_ interests. Let this be a warning to all other directors reading this that you really do need someone to advise you (without being the actual IP). This is a service that my company can provide. Skippy - my company would be happy to represent your interests in dealing with this IP,...

Can anyone recommend a package for keeping track of your personal bank accounts? My Sister used to use Microsoft Money, but the link in to her Nationwide Bank account no longer works and she wondered if there is an alternative. I use a very old version of MS Money with no links but I am happy with it, so I can's advise. Thanks

You should speak to your accountant regarding this, the answer to the tax

If someone leaves your employment then you must issue a P45. So yes you do
need to do one.

7 working days according to the letter. If you have already made arrangements to pay then defaulted on them you are going to get some pretty harsh treatment.
Can you afford to pay anything?

Another vote for Solar, it's brilliant, simple to use and excellent value for money.
And the support is excellent.
As Nicola says, I'd recommend it over Sage and QB any day for most small businesses.

I think my views on factoring have been well covered on here (!) but if you are convinced factoring is the way to go then I would recommend using someone like Ian J (although I have not seen him around for a long time) who acts as a broker and will discover exactly what you need and introduce you to the right company for you.

First of all, the expenses you are charging to your clients are not actually real expenses but simply a further explanation of your charge to them as much as your hourly rate is. The fact that you break it down on the invoice is of no consequence. For example, my fee notes are composed of time, mileage etc but the client does not see this...
