It's not the turbo. Regret that it might be though. Unlikely to be the wife running it out of petrol that caused it though. Dip the oil and let us know how much there is left.

You could even have a handy helper on standby with the jack to do Robert's last suggestion F1 pit stop style... As others have said, there is no substitute for serious percussion engineering on this one, the heat should help though...

Id be keeping the manual box of my 2.0. So i take it that there is no issue swapping engines - manual > Auto? or vice versa?

Hey all, Thanks for the comments Yesterday I went to buy the service items and rear brake components for the resto. Can tp rather a lot but only the best will do for my baby! I also went to get the oil and filter changed. I've used Mobil 1 Semi-Synthetic 10W 40 which will now get changed every 3,000 miles during my ownership, especially as the recent service history is a bit patchy. Ursa - the wool on my seats is in great condition,...

blue tac on the base. wedge of paper, sticky tape, glue. sure something will work as far as i know with the MOT testing is you need backing lights to work. but most MOTers wont look for that. its an offence apparently to have no back lights in the car as a friendly police man told me, he also said. say it just happend....

Knackered egr a strong possibility given the symptoms IMHO and experience, though I am not a mechanic. happened to me at, i forget now, about 85k or something like that. loss of power on the motorway followed by a limp home with the CEL on. suggest you need to get it looked at by someone with the proper Saab diagnostics and know-how. I'm not sure how much it costs as mine was fixed under my ...

The Central Locking controller is up under the dash, drivers side. You need to drop the trim panel from under the dash and then look up at the back. There is a metal cage and you will find a long black box (and a smaller metal one if you have cruise). The box has a long C Clip holding it in, remove the clip and the box falls out. Running a soldering iron over the joints may yield results. If ...

Handbrake not fully dis-engaged on one side so the wheel is dragging slightly and the ABS system is reading an imbalance and complaining? My 9-5 does it all the time when we have freezing weather and the handbrake on one side freezes on (must get round to giving the cables a good clean and lubricate...). Try a couple of stops using the handbrake in forward and reverse, that should free the ...

I,m missing something here Norman, does the lever just flop back into the neutral plane? Or does it come out of the housing, but whatever happens it stays in 3rd gear? Probably the selector insulator, methinks.

Hi draken I have both top mounts polybushed in red, there is significant vibration at tickover, though this goes completely as the revs rise. Its a compromise for you between comfort and performance. If your 9000 is a road racer then poly is the way to go, if your 9000 is your daily drive with just some occasional spirited driving then the top mount in yellow and the lower mount as oem rubber. ...

Unclip the grey plugs from the injector tops. There are two 10mm head bolts that hold the rail in place. Undo them and gently work the rail out of situ. Fuel spill alert. You won't have too much space to work in. The injectors are...
