Your spacer/ flange is incorrectly installed. The bulky flat side should be against the manifold gasket and the
cylinder head and the shaped side should be facing the shaped mouth of the exhaust pipe see pic below. I am not surprised it is leaking as shown in your pic.

The chrome strip is one piece about an inch wide with rounded edges where it shows. What
yuo've got is for later cars which has a single strip in the centre of the bumper:

Or so it would seem? Part of it is here and it looks in
rather good condition to be breaking? Best not say too much for getting myself into trouble and no doubt there is something terminally wrong with it or it's another sad victim of the scrappage scheme, the interior looks very nice but I'm not going to part with £400 for it.

Welcome to UKSaabs Howard. I have two
lime green 99 GL deluxe autos, both lime green and 4 door which I may yet break, but not sure if the bumper/grille changed between then and 78. I also have a lime green 96 If you have no luck here, I can highly recommend Martin at Jamsaab at Keynsham - near you. BUT keep your sticky paws off my red 99 T16 if you are there.
