Refinish a Schecter Exotic? I think so! Refinishing the top on a Schecter Exotic.... I've never liked the color, but it plays like a champ. It was my #1 for years, and it's coming back to the top of the gigging lineup. The edge of the top will be reclaimed for a natural binding, and I'm thinking a Charcoal grey-black color for the top. And then..... We're getting ...

A few months ago I bought new a guitar. I love everything about it. The look, the feel, the sound... It came with some pretty decent stock hardware, including a set of Active EMG pups. However, it is an odd combo. The Bridge and Neck pickups are both EMG 85s. Now, from what I can tell most people agree that at the neck the 85 is really nice, but think that an 85 at the bridge sounds too "...

If you had a gold titanium alloy it might work because of golds maulibility. youd have to find the right gold to titanium ratio though. but if you're thinkin grade 5 titanium alloy like spaceship metal, i dont know if that would work or not.

Hey. My sister sent me a picture of a Fender Stratocaster body and asked if I would fix it up. I've never done this before. Should I do it? Pic related. Edit: Shit, I think it's a Squier.

First off, what would the best neck pickup to go with the X2N as bridge? And also, I'm still debating whether or not to get a the X2N combo, or a SD Hot Rodded Humbucker set (JB and Jazz), what are your guys opinions on both?

This guitar is literally made from 85% scrap-wood. bolt on, HSH, 3 2-way switches, 1 vol, 1 tone. super contoured body, 1.7'' thick. super thin shredder neck. this is a possible build for a band member of a local band that is growing pretty fast. 24 3/4'' scale, 24 frets, ebony fretboard. reverse strat style straight headstock, Gold hardware, Gotoh floyd rose, direct mounted pickups....

So today, a guy told me he heard I do guitar work. He wants me to thin down the neck of an Epiphone Les Paul Special 2. This guitar http://www.zzounds.com/item--EPISPII First of all, I think is shouldn't be too hard, all I need is a rasp, sandpaper, and a finish. I've this stuff before. How much should I charge...? I gave him the options of a paint, stain, or oil finish on...

http://www.espguitars.co.jp/edwards/ex/E-EX-125E.h tml After I recover from buying my new amp, I'm thinking about getting another guitar, and I want an Explorer style axe. I might just end up getting a Gibby, but I love ESP necks. Long story short is, I wanna put a Floyd Rose in whichever one I get, and this one is the most attractive to me, so is the body deep enough? Or should I just ...

Fender Mustang. I believe it's a '64. Not entirely sure. In case anyone wants to do research for me, the neck plate says L94114, there's an offset contour body sticker on the headstock, and it has original Kluson Deluxe tuners. But that's not the point of this thread. I'd like to restore this thing so that I can play it, but quite frankly it's not in great shape. The frets are just about ...

Homemade Gibson SG - 51 new post

Ok, so me and my dad are making a custom-built Gibson SG. It's not a problem (other than taking quite a long time) since my dad is this expert woodworker, and I'm supplying all my guitar knowledge and he all his woodworking knowledge and its going well. So far we're staying true to the plans in general shape, but for electronics, we're changing it around. Also, custom paint is going to be ...

BTD's "Fragmentron" pedal build The concept was to design a bypass pedal that by itself would alternate to on and off. The speed of these alternations would be controlled by a speed knob. I need help but does anyone know how i could design this? Draw up a schematic maybe? Included is this picture i drew up........

Another week gone and time to post some new pics. This time I routed the truss-rod channel, cut the headstock angle and did some routing on the body also. The MOP pieces I ordered have arrived too, the side dots for the fingerboard and 1 ounce of 1.5mm thick pieces, here's one: I also made a bit of a mistake while routing. Somehow I managed to route the truss channel about 0.7mm too ...

Hey guys, I have been considering selling my Les Paul since I never really played it much and it was collecting dust but I've had a change of heart as of late. I picked it up and started playing it and it has a certain mojo about it that I just love. Since I can't get rid of it, I figured I'd swap the parts. What I have in mind right now is this: Grover rotomatic tuners (...

Ok I have an old Les Paul copy that used to be my main guitar, it has a little bit of damage including a brocken neck, I really want to mod it out/fix it up, mainly for something to do. Any input you guys could give me would be much appreciated. Pics coming soon.
