The lower end ibanez six strings can be hit or miss but you try them out before you buy.

My mistake. You are probably hitting the string harder with the ring finger because it curls more easily and naturally than the other fingers. Try the curling technique. If it works for Billy, it must have merit.

I want to play like Jaco
Published (2009-11-25 03:55:00)
Just a note, but if you start playing like Jaco, there will be a bunch of people that think you're just copying him. Not bad to use him as an inspiration, (obviously. not even sure why I added that.) but just saying.

I would also like a 6 string headless status bass. Graphite neck, Mahogany body, with cocobolla top. Neck woods, wenge, maple, and cherry. ACG filter preamp, with two Custom humbuker pickups, that can both be turned off and on, series split and parallel. Drop tuners, on all strings somehow fitted in and a string mute bar.

my middle fingers volume is always even with the index. its the ring finger thats giving me the extra volume. but, i'll try out the finger curling.

You own a 7 string Conklin. You need something better than Bugera. It's as simple as that. It's a crime against all things good and holy to use a Conklin through anything but supreme quality gear. __________________ The above is opinionated and as such, incredibly biased. I'm not a huge fan of post-gibson takeover traces, they lack something (apart from weight) of the old greenbacks. If you want the trace sound you should go for something before 1998 or so. As far as the 2x15 goes, you'll probably only need a 1x15 but then again the 2x15 could sound good with it as well
try them out is all i can say

ash and alder are pretty similar, ash has a bit more "character" to its sound. While the P bass is the go-to punk bass, plenty of people use a Jazz just fine for it, the P and J bass are both incredibly versatile. If you like the J more, and its more comfortable for you, go for it, it'll work fine

You're going to want a minimum of 200 watts. How much money do you have to spend?
No pedals are 'absolutely neccesary' though I wouldn't want to do without my overdrive and I'm in desperate need of a wah. (but that's just me)
Edit: I say a minimum of 200, but I would get annoyed at anything less than 500

First bar is just the pickup note, GP won't let you do one. >_<

Two beats for the chords that share a bar.

Is it only when you play because if not then it's probably a more serious problem.

I would try it and see what happens, the problem would be that in harmonizing with the guitar you would be neglecting the bassline.

Think of the volume as a knob that will just change when it blows up.
It is not a a good idea at all, because it will blow up eventually.

Honestly, realistically, probably a no on that one. Something like a good ol' no nonsense Fender would suite all my needs. The craziest thing I could see myself going for would be along the lines of a Steinberger. If I ever decide to go the boutique-ish road, and have an enormous amount of money lying around, I'll build the bass myself for half the cost of a boutique instrument

It will work with a bass cab, but it probably won't sound too great
EDIT: and 100w probably won't be enough anyway
