Harrington on Cash Games is a good starting point and it will teach you to be a good nit. You should probably play as he advises for your first 100 to 150 hours of live play. You may then be far enough along to seek something more sophisticated to open up your game a bit... although the Harrington style is more than sufficient to beat weak, loose, live games. If you plan to play online you need to watch training videos and probably buy Ed...

What's your typical 3-betting range? Do you ever give ppl a reason to 4 bet you with worse? If you're like an 11/10 or something when you get 4 bet you're going to be facing a stronger range often. My point being is that you'd be lmore likely to observe a streak of 4bet=AA if you're tight than if you're a lag. That said, stacking off with KK vs AA may not be enjoyable, but habitually folding KK to 4bets is almost...

For me it was the idea of Pot Size Control that made me from a losing player into a winning player at that level. In short: Top Pair Top Kicker is not that strong of a hand and cannot win on value by betting 3 streets. There are tons of other things, of course, but that was the one huge leak I had.

I like opening to $1 on the CO/BTN as well unless I have a read that the blinds are super tight and I start widening my stealing range so I'll open smaller with the lower end of the range to risk less when they have a hand and call. Yes, it makes my hand more visible but I doubt weak tight opponents notice or adjust. I will open for 0.75$ from the SB as I'm OOP. Flop is fine. I ...

Disclaimer: I have played live exactly twice in my life. (1) There's a big difference in max buy-ins in lB&M casinos. 100 bb ($200 for you) is sort of standard on the Internet, but live it can be more, or less. If you don't feel comfortable with the idea of having to bet $200 on a single hand, buy in for less while you're getting a feel for the game. However, note that your stack...

saturdays and sundays afternoonish ET, and weeknights after 6ish ET... no tools used, lol, just play around a few weeks and you'll see I'm right. Its when the 9-5'ers are off work and not sleeping, recreational players en masse are what get those numbers in the zone. No tools required.
