A comedic attempt at a
horror film that my friend and I recently filmed and starred in. She edited it and put it all together and used a bit too much "slow-mo" voice effect, IMO but I still found it quite funny. Most of it was improvised

Next wednesday, at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Cern) near Geneva, Switzerland, scientists will be switching on the world's largest particle accelerator, the
Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for the first time and it's supposed to be the "biggest day in science for decades, or possibly ever" as the experiment's findings could revolutionise our understanding of how mass was...

I was thinking to post this in the amazing video thread and then I thought that it would deserve it's own thread to shine some light on what's going on with our E-waste. That's a subject that comes back every once in a while, none the less an important subject for education... I was just watching this
shocking video!!! http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4586903n What's in a CRT ...

The logic behind producing and marketing this machine is funny and questionable. One of the reader comments is great, that he needs "four large treadmills, so he can use it inside when the weather's bad." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUuwE...pp/weblog/p ost

I don't know if anyone here has a wealth of knowledge on this subject but it just seems like there is so much contradictory information out there on this matter. Everywhere I go I'll read something that says yeah this works and then go somewhere else and see someone saying that it doesn't work. My case would seem pretty simple but apparently it is not. I have an 5.1 Onkyo Home Theater ...

As reported in The New York Times of today, the IT industry is suddenly in a strong slump and headed to a economic crash due to the failing economy. It really embarrasses me to know that the present native and global economic situation was caused by the administration in the U.S. White House and some member of the
U.S. Congress. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/15/te...html?th&emc =th

my father said it wasn't his so I thought, "I may as well have it"

Heres a very interesting article in The New York Times of today, a study of why there is a decline of females studying computer science, attributed, in part, to gaming. We have discussed this general subject in an earlier thread, but this article presents a new insight. Quote: The girls game movement failed to dislodge the sense among both boys and girls that ...

I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere on the forum, but for those who don't know YouTube now allows high quality videos. More recent videos have the option displayed to switch to high quality (e.g. my 3DMark
Vantage video has that option shown at the bottom right of the video). However the best part is that it appears you can make any existing YouTube video, no matter how old, ...

Saw this on Neowin, and I think it shows just how difficult any kind of security is going to be in the future- apparently a new
software system called 'Sneakey' has been developed which allows people to use long-distance photographs of physical keys to cut duplicates: Quote: The access control provided by a physical lock is based on the assumption that the ...
