Clutch time! Which to choose?
Published (2009-11-26 21:21:00)
Alright so I think its about time that I buy my clutch, as my other one is done for, so I need some opinions. Car is Spirit R/T, come spring will have Holset HY35, FMIC, Meth injection, custom cut retainers, and a bunch of other little things. Driving is a mix of city and highway, almost none of that downtown/bumper to bumper crap. I got a chance to drive Tonys spirit a couple nights ago. It has a dual diaphragm pressure plate, 4 puck...

i had a tu 6 puck with a yellow pp. it held great for me. mods at the time were 3" exhaust, fwd s4, fmic and a 50 trim around 25psi. i think the 4 puck with purple plate would be a bit overkill unless you are looking to make some big power. best bet is to just give chris a call at tu. he'll be able to give you the best guidance to get a clutch that fits your needs.

over boost an issue
Published (2009-11-25 17:31:00)
well, i threw an engine code 45 today. which is an overboost shutoff circuit fault. that may explain why im overboosting and why i get "lean out" while cruising

Im just stating the experiences that I have had. I quoted that becuase we were talking about alum flywheels, and from my looking into that. Have yet to see a t3 car actually running that has one. Yes, a few people have them. But, when I was talking to them. None of the cars ran. That was my point. If thats taken as bashing, sorry. I was stating how things have gone for me, and what works for my setup. There are lots of options that will work....

It almost has to show a code if the check engine light comes on. Do you have any access to an OTC or DRB to check it with? Thats what I would start with and see what code pops up. Without knowing what the computer is seeing its just a guessing game.
