Hesitation like a clogged fuel...
Published (2009-11-27 09:55:00)
E10 fuel won't cause it. Toyota's short term and long term fuel trims adjust the AFRs as needed, but that's assuming you have a working AFR sensor to let the ECU know. Normally, though, the ECU will throw a code for the AFR sensor because they have a programmed response time and are monitored actively. AFR sensors are basically wideband O2 sensors, and are considerably more expensive, so don't go out and get one if you...

Also, Sport has 17" wheels & tires... OffRoad has 16". As to pros & cons -- they are virtually the same truck, but with different trim packages. Compare the packages -- whichever one is equipped the way you prefer will be the one you'll want to buy. Visit a dealer, look at the trucks, compare them and drive them. The right one for me may not be the right one for you.

BFG A/T load range question -...
Published (2009-11-25 13:37:00)
I'm riding on E load tires. Stiff as all hell around town, but I couldn't find what I wanted in a D load range. To be honest though, I never go faster than 80km/h (50mph), and I spend most of my time in deep snow or gravel covered ice. If I were still living in southern Canada, I would've refused to buy E load tires. Hope that helps some with the original question!

2010 Tacoma quality
Published (2009-11-26 10:55:00)
With the purchase of a 2010, and the prior ownership of a 2008, I've noticed that the quality has dropped off some between the two model years. I had a 2008 access Prerunner and purchased the exact same model 2010, with the addition of the V6 and auto transmission. Some thing I've noticed: The quality of paint seems to have deminished. There are a few blemishes under the paint. Although they are in "out-of-sight"...

Published (2009-11-18 15:20:00)
Mine was doing that till I put some leather treatment on the boot. Squeak went away completely. It comes back about every 8 months or so and I have to put more leather treatment on it. 303 didn't work for me.

I would think an O2 sensor maybe? You are right about it not being the fuel filter/pump because more fuel is required at the higher RPMs. The ethanol might cause the problem but I doubt it. Sorry I'm not of more help.

Saw that on the news last week. The issue is with mats that are not anchored in position to the floor, and therefore may work their way forward and interfere with the throttle pedal. Mats with the anchor attachments are no problem, and may continue to be used -- as long as they are properly anchored.

what kind of leak is it? oil or coolant?how are your fluids? , need to check them. Like you said the cover is just a cover, you'll have to remove it to really see where that leak comes from. It could be a bad water pump or an engine oil seal (you have 3 seals).take it to the dealer for a more acurate diagnostic.

Much roomier cab... more comfortable ride; V6 has much better power and little if any fuel mileage penalty (I know you mentioned I4 preference).

I agree with not wanting a LR-E on your Tacoma. Some guys run 'em, but I would not -- in fact, I avoid LR-D also. Besides a heavier tire affecting the ride, your fuel mileage will suffer. Unfortunately BFG does not make All-Terrains in LR-C, but they do make LR-D.... you may have to widen your search to find 'em.

From here. I didn't see the rear springs listed separately but they do sell them separately from the lift and IIRC it was something like $500-$600. Call and talk to Kurt and tell him I sent you.

I find it odd that Toyota has left the 1GR without any significant technology enhancements. The engine was finalized in 2002 and mass produced in 2003 for the 4Runner. So, it's currently the oldest of the GR engines. The 2GR-FE was produced in 2005 for the Avalon, with the 2GR-FSE following suit in 2006 for the IS 350. Both have dual VVT-i with roller-rockers and hydraulic valve lifters with ...
