I just bought a 1997 Camry le and need to know how difficult is it to repair the exhaust flex pipe on the v6? Do I have to replace the whole catalytic converter? Is this a common repair?Thanks

My son's 96 4 cylinder Camry started having trouble with the RPM's ramping up and down while stopped at a
stop sign. RPM's will go as high a 4k and then down to almost where the engine will stall. Check Engine light has come on also. Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks
