its just the tip of the iceberg.we can buy freight brokers, we can buy truck lines, corporate jets (rumor),helicopters, got to be enough for pulling tractors, and nascar, and new corporate cars, and buying terminals, and worn out old line haul tractors, but they have a new paint job.plenty of money for those items, but not for the drivers.zimmerman is taking us down, and the roberts are letting him.

All that seems to matter lately, is how your numbers look on the dispatchers computer....They have to justify the numbers,(stops per hour), whether or not customers or drivers are impacted in a negative way... Couple of examples, the other day, at 6:00 pm, we had a loaded trailer that had to be picked up at a customers...To go get it, and back to the yard, about 2 hours.... We had a driver that came at 2:00 pm for pick-ups....He was sent home...

dont know about the rest of you, but i would be prepared to look for another job if this sell out is true........there are other companies that are paying at the same level as R&L or really close.....i know one company thats paying their wrench turners just 1.05 less than me starting pay but in my opinion, that aint bad....dont have to stress yourself out to much and they pay time and half and they got new...

Talked to GI (estes driver) they lost there personal days and 401k last friday also. It sucks for everybody these days. The only good thing for us out west is we gained so much when rl bought its not so bad giving a little back some us got a instant 6 dollar raise when we went to rl scale and much better benefits.

At our shop the mechanic leaves at 8 or 8:30 AM. Our P & D runs start between 8 & 9:00. Someone please tell me how this makes sense.

Well said.It is very strange days lately for sure.Ive said similar stuff every day as far as the driver thing.I run a full pedal run every day and in my area at the end of the day is National Envelope.Well we have guaranteed a driver to be there till 700 PM every night if they want.I don't want to stay there that late and am at top rate, but we have lower rate drivers that aren't getting hours ...

Who could actually afford to buy it? If R+L has operated the way it has in the past, it has no debt. So, whomever buys it will actually have to pay cash. Not like other companies holding debt where you pay some cash and assume the debt. Given the current climate, I don't believe there is any other transportation company strong enough to do it. OD is the only one who has had better than ...

I can tell you LSV has very few missed pick up's. If a truck is still on the street. That truck is going to pick it up. No matter if he is a block from the Term. That truck is turned around to go get it. Big or small account. What gets me is so many drivers know so much about R+L. And they driver for LTL 's that do the same thing. It is of the name of the game. If Company A can take fright from ...

You seem to be going through what we went through about 6-9 months ago. Don't get so upset, miles play a factor in your stop per hour numbers,at 300 miles you should be doing about .8 stops per hour. There is a list of miles and what your stop per hour should be. Also, you need to call in any delay of more than 15 minutes to your dispatcher,so he can write it in on the detail next to the company ...
