Van has a few friends around the Trucking Industry, I'm glad he was able to hook you up. He's been real good about helping students out trying to help them find jobs.

Yes, they do the whole pre-hire thing. They won't take you if they don't think they can get you hired. That's why I picked them over a community college. He said it would be a little more difficult for me because I had a recent suspension because of child support. One of the reasons I decided to go into trucking is because there are always plenty of ads looking for truckers down here. I figure once I get some experience under...

I attended RM in KCMO and now have a bill with them for $6495.00 for my Class A permit. You have to decide within the first week if you believe you can pass the tests and you will sign your paperwork at that time, stating you will be responsible for the total. Mind you, the first week you are in the classroom and have no idea what the training will be like. Make sure you tell them you want a copy of every single piece of paper you sign and...

Well finally decided on going with RoadMaster driving school. Good bad or indifferent I'm here. Drove from Shreveport to San Antonio, actually was a nice ride. 2 people to a room, La Quinta. No fridg or mic but I can make do. Have no idea where the school is or what will take place first. Not real sure as to what I want to haul. I'm thinking flat bed or tanker? Will try to give a day by day if I can.

"i got a question we got pam ,decker usa truck which company more would go with or which is more better trying decide decker or usa." That is a very tough choice. I'm glad you are making it and not me, because I wouldn't want to work for any of them. But, that is the price you pay when you go through driver's solutions.

When I went to C-1 in Indy we stayed at a Holiday Inn. Real nice rooms and I had a good roomate, the same one for the 2 weeks. I've been by that Holiday Inn and they've changed names and took the balconies off.

Hilliard, Check out Napier Truck Driver Training in Hamilton, OH, just north of Cincinnatti on I-75. Granted, they are in the 4k range, but I wouldn't classify them as a "cdl mill" either. I attended there in August and had a very good experience. See my post on them in this section for more info.
BTW, if you are looking for cheap schools because of poor finances, look into alternative ...

Finished up second day on the road today. What a experience! Started out driving a freightliner with a nine speed transmission. All in all it seemed like everybody did good. I haven't got the hang of down shifting yet. I definitely have to work on the hand eye coordination. Hopefully it will improve with practice. Friday we switch over to ten speed transmissions. We rotate back and forth with ...
