Good Lord...that's painful to watch... I doubt even Swift routes on that road. Perhaps more likely, the driver was trying to shave the difference between his paid and routed...and discovered why he's NOT routed that way.... Been there, done that, learned the hard way..... ...but never anything that bad...

Just an above average salary that ranges from usually $25k-$30k your first year as a company driver and gets slightly higher than that afterwards, when you know what your doing. As for being an O/O I have heard claims from drivers that range from $50-$100K a year. I am not one so I cannot tell you about that, but I would defintely recommend you start as a company driver for at least two years ...

Toss a dart. They're all the same except for the color of the truck and DOT# on the door.

Hi folks, I just have a quick question about pay. I've been interested in getting into trucking after I retire from the military. However, my
brother-in-law just gave it a try and he only lasted about 6 weeks after he was assigned a truck. He was team driving for a large company, and he said he was constantly on the road (I know, that's the general idea.) But, he said he was only bringing ...

I don't know of a "lifetime" MVR, but some states will report 10 - 15 years of history. If the state reports the history for that period of time, the insurance company would have access, but "usually" will not consider it if over 3 years old ---- UNLESS the MVR shows the individual to be a
habitual offender.

It isn't advisible to buy your own truck until you put a few years in driving for someone else. You've yet to gain the experience you need nor the time
behind the wheel to ensure this is the chosen path for you. Hire on to a reputable company and wait it out, see what you think in 5 years.

I quit driving in '81, came back in '03. After training I watched these kids griping about getting assigned to a three year old FLD instead of a Coloumbia or Volvo. I got in the FLD thought to myself, it's got power steering, only one gearshift, a Jake brake, a sleeper that I could stand up to put my pants on, an
air conditioner that actually worked, cruise control, power mirrors etc, what are ...
