One of my dispatchers ran into that problem with 64 bit several years ago. He custom built a top of the line
computer tower...no drivers available for his printer. He had to buy a new printer. That happened to me when I deleted Vista and installed XP...I had Vista only hardware...no driver support on a Vista laptop running XP. I had to hunt in the wild for a Creative Labs sound driver, couldn't...

Windows still dominates over 90 percent of the market. I was going to get Windows 7 at Bestbuy but they only had the up grade versions. I need the full version. I bought the new
Snow Leopard, that is just a short upgrade over Leopard. It will run both 32 and 64 bit which is cool. I'll keep my XP for awhile longer, I'm in no rush. I'll need to do a full install for windows 7.

If you are running a 5 year old or newer computer...yup, you "need" Windows drivers to run Linux....the "only" why to get all the proper drivers is with Windows... Linus does not provide "Priority"
hardware drivers..because Linux developers cannot get into the Windows priority code to create the drivers... So the Linux developers have to devise "Mickey Mouse" drivers and "hope" they work...
