The new airport has a new name and is scheduled to open in May 2010! Southwest Airlines announced they will be flying into the new PFN and other airlines are being courted.

Less than a month after officially naming the new airport, the board has decided on a different name.
Old Name:
Northwest Florida Panama City International Airport
New Name: Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport
Much better IMHO.

Southwest has not released specific service details, saying only that it will add at least two daily nonstop flights from Northwest Florida to four destinations across its 68 airport network for a total of eight daily nonstop flights when it begins service next year.

Pompano's and Capt. Anderson's are usually closed that time of year. Spinnakers and the
Treasure Ship, too. Otherwise, the Boatyard, Schooners, Pineapple Willys, Montego Bay should be open. Don't know about the rest. Hope this helps a little.
