What is the best way and best...

It may be easier - and cheaper - for you to go from Riga to London Gatwick on Air Baltic and then connect to Antalya from there via www.flythomascook.com .... eg if you depart Gatwick on 3 June 2010 and return from Antalya to Gatwick on 17 June it would only be UK Pounds 144 each return including taxes. Or, if you want to book a complete holiday - flights and hotel and transfers - from London Gatwick, try DirectLine.com or TravelRepublic.com...

Side or Oludeniz?
Published (2009-12-20 15:54:00)
Olu Deniz has the spectacular beauty which IMO Side lacks. It's also near to Fethiye , still a traditional working Turkish town, and you can easily move around the area on the dolmus. Given the choice, like VillaRhapsody, I would plump for Olu Deniz.

Change a small amount of your money into TL before leaving to see you through the first few hours. Change the rest of your Sterling into TL when your'e in Turkey as the rate is far better.
Don't get fooled by the "No Commission" offers though. One way or another whoever changes your money will be making a profit. Banks and Post Offices (look out for a sign saying PTT on it ) ...

LifePro - unfortunately you are, in my opinion, 120% correct in what you say ... I have had several friends stay in Belek and they all tell me the same thing ... I looked into the situation myself with local Turkish friends in Side and they tell me that the Belek taxi drivers have driven other taxi drivers with more competitive prices out - also the tour companies who are more ...

Golf in Belek is roughly 120 Euros per day but the beaches there are not as good for children or as sandy as the Side beach which is only 30 minutes away and has - gently shelving white sand beach for miles (2nd longest in all of Turkey) - good beach activities for children - no creepy crawlies at all and a nice calm sea - good 4 and 5-star hotels like the Arum, Hemera, Side Prenses, ...

I've only been to Side, so can't compare the two.
The locals can speak very good english in Side. In October there was not many english people there, and they used to come up to us speaking german....they were delighted when they found out we were english.
You can get chips in the restaurants, and they are very nice chips too! There are lots of lovely food, more ...

Hi Alison
As you are no doubt already aware they operate a telephone booking system at this hotel, which works well and you should be able to book your group in ok
When you dial you are given the option of a group booking, choose this and book in using your room number, you are then asked if you wish to add another room , give this number , and then the same again ...

It's not far at all - our house in Gumbet is just off that road and we can see the aquapark from one of our balconies. Sorry, I can't help with the prices but most people I have spoken to said they enjoyed it. You can either make your own way there (taxi) or go on an organised trip. The aquapark is actually in Ortakent and at most I would reckon a 15 minute taxi ride from your hotel....

Seeing as how we always tell people to check the forum for feedback on hotels, in my mind it makes perfect sense to post a hotel review here. There are and always have been numerous posts on the forum about specific hotels, so I guess I don't understand what the issue is. Also, visitors planning a trip to Istanbul frequently do searches of specific properties on the forum, so whether ...
