I would go for a Disney Resort Package so you can all have your own space. It's great to be with Family but it's also nice to be able to have a little time apart ( I have traveled with 13, 15 and more. We all Love eachother but... ). You will have free transportation from the Airport ( MCO ) and all around the Disney Parks. Everyone can come and go as they please There is a nice Buy 4 Get 3 Free Promotion right now that may be of...

If you go back and try the two Quality Inns, the southern one, QI Plaza, still has good cheap eals but is in a better area. The northern end of Idrive touches the southern end of an area of the city of Orlando that has gone downhill quite a bit crimewise since you were there last time. All chains have good an bad locations. Many are franchised so not owned by the same people. When rates get low in certain areas near Orlando, transient...

The Grand Floridian will have the massive (think almost life-sized) gingerbread house display. The Wilderness Lodge is also lovely at Christmas. Jennifer

I would take issue with the broad statement above about the hotel chains. Over the 30 years of traveling to the US we have had some lovely Hotels out of Super 8. Quality & Comfort, Travel Lodge, Econo Lodge . A few Nice motel 6. Often getting a better standard than Best Western for less cost. I would also put Holiday inn into this box as well . while we have had a few most have never had a re visit.. We have also had good rooms from...

How fun! And what a nice keepsake for you both.
If you like margaritas I'd suggest getting to the San Angel Inn early and stopping at the tequila bar at the bottom of the ramp inside the pavillion to the right. But after a couple, you may decide to skip dinner. :)

We just did this when we were down in Nov. We took 528 to Cocoa and then drove down the coast on A1A to the intersection of 520. Turned left at the lights and you are at the Alan Shepherd Beach Park. We paid $7. to park in their lot and it was only a few steps to the beach. There are bathrooms and change rooms in the parking lot area. There's outside showers to wash the sand off when ...

I won't recommedn the north end of Idrive near to Universal, but Hawthorn Suites are a reliable brand.
Quality Inn Plza have been running a special offer at a really good price- have you looked at that one?

I'd probably pick Prime as it's newer, possibly a bit larger, and there is a greater expanse of other shopping in the immediate area, too* - so, more to look at generally.
You can take a taxi or you can go by bus - your choice. I wouldn't waste cab fare, but that's me. Buses between the Rosen Center and Prime are northbound LYNX (city) buses 8 and 42 (up to 6 per hour weekday...

I have kids in their early 20s and they loved Universal. They went out to City Walk on their own at night but we were staying on-site and they could walk there. Cirque du Soleil was a big hit too and I wouldn't discount Epcot if you haven't been since they were children. It went from the bottom to the top of the Disney parks for my two once they got older. There is a lot more in the way...

*Might* be going in April
Hary Potter World being Open would be a nice Bonus but won't count on it. Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival is the Big Selling point for us, that time of the year
I need to get this next Holiday enjoyed before I put future plans into place :)

I would ask the 16 yr old which they prefer. If a Girl I would think they might prefer NYC for the shopping alone.
As to costs, NY hotel rooms will be more expensive and tend to be smaller and many can only accomodate 2 persons.
Transport via subway and taxi is however easy and not too pricy. And flights should be cheaper as there is lots of competition plus is ...
