There are quieter blocks available so you should be fine. The block that backs on to the Tropicana Hotel is actually very quiet, you can see the hotel/block on this map link below. If you contact them Suleyman is the booking manager http://www.oludenizmap.com/map.html http://www.asenabeach.com/ Happy New Year CF Edited: 10:49 am, yesterday

Hi Nick and welcome to the Turkey forum! Turgutreis is a lovely town, still unspoilt and traditional so I feel sure you'll enjoy your holiday there. There is no train service to Istanbul. You can go on the bus, several companies go each day, although most services are night time and the journey takes 12 hours...sorry.The buses are comfortable,A/C,non smoking and do stop regularly for breaks and they serve drinks and snacks free of charge.The...

Best to book a self catering apartment, more room and most of them have a fridge.Full English breakfast is served everywhere, average price was 5 lira,in September we payed 3 lira (£1.20) at the Florida restaurant and others then started dropping their prices later that week.I also took sausages, cheese etc in a coolbag this year, together with that georgous Turkish bread, the sausage butties were lovely to eat on our balcony in the...

Is it very "touristy"?
Published (2009-12-26 13:16:00)
Dalaman itself is an agricultural town, but as has been said, there are many very attractive areas within easy reach that are not overrun by tourists - apart from Marmaris ! I wouldn't worry about air traffic as most planes land and take off over the sea. The scenery around Dalaman itself is very attractive, with fields of fruit and nut trees, cotton, tomatoes etc surrounded by mountains - the house itself may have a tremendous view, it...

Yes it is good for swimming all the way along the coast there, very clean and it shelves off gently too,no nasty sudden drops!Good for snorkelling too.
As I mentioned, this is a family resort and one frequented by many Turkish people, your children are used to making friends with children of other nationalities and as most Tukish children speak some English they will get on fine....

Hi Wurzel, to get a decent view you do need a fair bit of height.
so the easiest option without walking would probably be to get a taxi or Dolmus along the Faralya road (thats the one that passes Lykia world).
The view is good but it is not really high enough to get the full benefit.
If you were a bit more adventurous you could hitch a lift with some of the Paragliding ...

Looks like it's the TV for now!

My concern would be that Dalaman is a town with an airport, so your house could be in the air corridor. And the town itself isn´t that beautiful (although I have just seen the part from the airport to the main street)
But the area is very nice and pretty unspoilt (if you avoid Marmaris :-))
There is a beach very nearby, Sarigerme, but there are many more destinations and ...

Hi Lesley.
Oludeniz has no high rise hotels at all so that's the first good news.
There's only one noisy road which is the central road of the resort and it's easy to avoid, the road is actually not that bad and most hotels alongside it can still be relaxed depending what time of the year you go.
You should look at the reviews at the time of year you are thinking of ...
