Better restaurants

I'm not sure - I have treied this myself a few times - I think the owners themselves has to put their restaurant up before others can review it. Maybe email them with your +ve feedback and ask them to list their place on TA?

Thanks for the advise. I will consider it. Maybe as urs comment, spend more days Luang prabang, and not going to Vang Vieng. For this 8 days 7 nights, we will take bus instead of flying. Understand that the long journey for travel from Vientiane to Phosavan & Luang Prabang. If not take night bus back from Luang Prabang to Vientiance, will consider take the plane, but need to pay extra USD64 ( the travel period for Laos Airlines is...

I used Silasak at Lao Women's UnionTravel. He was very helpful. Between us we planned a private itinerary taking in all the usual sights plus other little known spots. The highlight was a homestay in a weaving village just outside Vientiane. We also used him for the North ans East of Laos and he accompanied us himself. His email is silasak@lao womentour.com

thanks all. We were able to change our plane flights so we can spend more time now. We hate to rush as we like to go at a slower pace & really absorb things. Should we spend a few more days in LP, elsewhere like Vientene or Phomn Pehn ? Or should we just spend more time in Chiang Mai , Chiang Rai, LP or Bangkok without adding another stop? LP was the only place we were going to go to...

Hi Explore: If this thread takes off you are about to get so many different ideas, so prepare yourself haha. There is so much to see and do that there are dozens of ways to split 14 days between those 2 countries. I think one of the things you need to decide is if in Cambodia you want to do Phnom Penh and Siem Reap or have more time in Laos and only do SR ...

The roads are fine - especially the main roads you ask about to LP. Tarsealed and maintained. All the roads on the main tourist routes are fine and have hundreds of vehicles passing every day. A good road map to get is Nelles - they show the main highways and you can rely on all of these.

There was a similar post last week. To get to VV right away from the airport, take a tuktuk from the main road just outside the airport to the northern bus station, 1km away and 10,000kip fare. Buses leave every hour or less, and cost 55000 -65000 kip ($6-7), and takes between 3-4 hours depending on how many stops it makes. You should be there about 3pm.

Hi, I have never heard of this hotel which does surprise me a little, especially in this price range. Had a look at the website and the other hotels they have on there do seem a little high in comparison to other sites.
