Hi Toots
Can't help you on accomodation I've only stayed at Barefoot Have eaten at
Wild Orchid which was good. You do need to swim for snorkelling otherwise you'd sink. You don't book you just walk in for snorkelling probably elephant beach is best for this. Don't know about diving theoretically not but I can't imagine the dive centres would be too happy with non swimmers also it's a...

Havelock Island was developed just because it had some good beaches surrounding it so everything is procured from Port Blair may be they have installed a ATM recently but dont take a chance that your International Credit Card may not working if there are any network issues. Even in a 5th largest i stay in Hyderabad some of the leading Bank ATM does deny US Debit Cards due to ...

There's so much to do and see . . . Here is a list of my personal preference.
Cellular Jail: An obvious MUST
Jolly Buoy: Ideal place for scuba diving and snorkeling. Accessible by boats from Wandoor, which is about 30 km by road from
Port Blair .
Ross Island: The erstwhile capital (during the British regime), this takes you back in time. The ruins are ...

Hi,
Am going there myself, just after New Years. And would have gone for X-mas/new Years except it was a little expensive for where we wanted to stat. And that is
Barefoot at Havelock - by many accounts the best place to stay on the island.
From London, I'd fly BA to Chennai and book domestic flights from Chennai to Port Blair on an Indian website. I've used both...

Hi,
why don't you advance pay your booking and diving to some reputed organisation and carry the minimal cash with you.
when you book it in advance with some company, you also pay for your food and stuff. so it minimizes your requirements of carrying cash. you can carry some money for
scuba diving and snorkeling. i had travelled with a company named thrillophilia ...

Hi Debashish,
I have been to
Havelock Islands and stayed at the Wild Orchid for 9 days. It is the most amazing place that I have ever been to...the resort is really nice and is located on a very peaceful beach, unlike the Radhanagar beach where Barefoot is located at.
Benny and Lynda who run Wild Orchid are very very welcoming and will treat you like long lost ...

Hiya
I booked with them back in about April. They took a day or two to reply but otherwise were very efficient and sorted it all out quite quickly. They didn't take credit cards to I had to have the money wired out by
bank transfer which takes about 8 days or so, but at least it's tracked all the way! I know it's rainy season out there so perhaps they have been away for a few days?
