malaria tablets
Published (2009-12-04 13:18:00)
I got a script for malarone yesterday, when I went for the script the pharacist asked me were I was going, he then told me to take the A&P instead as malarone is not covering the strain of malaria that has been recent to Goa , although it is a broad spectrum tablet, so I bought the ones he recommended, they were 15 pounds a packet that covers a 2 weeks holiday !

Visa help
Published (2009-12-03 07:57:00)
Jazz, it doesn't really matter what you put on the visa form as long as it matches your passport name and status. Be careful though, as your travel tickets have to match what's on your passport. For example, it wouldn't harm anybody if you were to put Mrs on your visa application form a long side your maiden name but what name did you book your holiday under your maiden name or your married name?

My daughters although a few years older absolutely loved Goa . The only place were I feel you really get harassed is at Anjuna Market. Other than that it's not that bad. You do get sellers on the beach but much less than it was a couple of years ago in my opinion. Just say no and smile and this does the trick. The most annoying people are probably taxi drivers who will ask you if you ...

Hubby and I have never reacted badly to them. Not everyone will react badly to them, it's a case of trying and seeing I'm afraid. But you can minimise side effects by taking them with your evening meal. This is what we've done and like I said, we've been fine.
It seems like you are expecting to be poorly with them. Hopefully, like many others, you will be just fine!

We have stayed a tLagoa Azul three times. The first time (about 7 years ago it was lovely) I would have recommended it to anyone, we went a couple of years after that and it was not so good but we were told that there had been some dispute between the co-owners and they weren't spending any money on it - it was starting to get a little tired.
The last time we we went (the ...

Megan - in April this year, Qantas grounded a flight because 4 baby pythons had escaped from the cargo hold. That story, widely reported, doesn't seem to have put you off flying.
Of course, snakes will have got into all sorts of places across the whole of India - you will probaby not see a snake in your room when you go to Cola Beach but nobody can guarantee that. Nor can they ...

Can't comment on the Highland Beach, but we have stopped at the Whispering Palms twice & are heading back there again in 40 days.
It's in a good central location 2 mins from the beach.
Personally we always upgrade on rooms because they are a slightly higher standard & away from the pool area which also doubles up as the nightly entertainment area.
Rooms ...

Best to avoid the porters at the airport, they will carry your case a few metres than ask for £1. Many people get taxis to the resort it should be somewhere around 750 rupees (£10). Pleany of taxis at night and they will wait for you, but best arrange the price before you get in.
