In my opinion it is a very desirable place to live. I actually used to live just around the corner on Flensborggade for a couple of years and I really liked it. The area around Enghave Plads (which is right next to Flensborggade/Kongshojgade) is rich with cafes, small shops and various take-away places (mostly pizza and kebab/sharwama places). There are several places to go shopping for groceries nearby (both discount as well as less...

Pretty city or town near Billund???
Published (2009-12-04 08:46:00)
The closest town is Vejle which is about 40 min by bus from Billund Airport. Ribe - Denmark's oldest town - is a nice idyllic town, but is 2+ hours from Billund Airport by bus/train with changes. Hans

Kuoni are offering accommodation on one of their ships docked in the harbour. Call them and ask about Ship 15.

Those all sound good. Do we need to rent a car or could we just use public transportation?

Daylight hours in June

It is an experience, and one more detail: since you are so far north, the sun isn't that far below the horizon during the short night in June, so even though the sun may set just before 10 o'clock at night, it's only really dark for a couple of hours, and it'll be more like twilight untill 11 o'clock or so (at least). If you were to go further north, to Oslo or Stockholm for instance, the night is even shorter and it...

Hi, In the greater area of Copenhagen you have the following public transportation options: - Busses - Metro - S-train For transporting yourself around in the central part of Copenhagen (not going to the suburbs) - busses and metro are the most suitable. If you need to travel to other cities, you will probably choose the s-train....

I've heard that Legoland is not to be missed. Also H.C. Andersen's village Odense is quaint and there's an Iron Age Village nearby that she could visit when in Odense.

n.b- I had done some research into this already but found conflicting opinions regarding Stroget. Described by some as the place where most shops are but also only full of chain stores that can be found anywhere? I think my Mother would like a few big name shops but would probably rather something more particularly Danish?

i don't know much about them, they are an older couple, maybe 40s-50s, live near the city center. i was trying to think of something that is native to the states, something a Dane would shop for if they visited here. any thoughts? Sees candy?
