Hi,
May I ask how you intend to travel around in Denmark and how many days do you have available?

I've heard that Legoland is not to be missed. Also
H.C. Andersen's village Odense is quaint and there's an Iron Age Village nearby that she could visit when in Odense.

In my opinion it is a very desirable place to live. I actually used to live just around the corner on Flensborggade for a couple of years and I really liked it.
The area around Enghave Plads (which is right next to Flensborggade/Kongshojgade) is rich with cafes, small shops and various take-away places (mostly pizza and kebab/sharwama places). There are several
places to go ...

Hi,
In the greater area of Copenhagen you have the following
public transportation options:
- Busses
- Metro
- S-train
For transporting yourself around in the central part of Copenhagen (not going to the suburbs) - busses and metro are the most suitable.
If you need to travel to other cities, you will probably choose the s-train....

Those all sound good. Do we need to
rent a car or could we just use public transportation?

n.b- I had done some research into this already but found conflicting opinions regarding Stroget. Described by some as the place where most shops are but also only full of
chain stores that can be found anywhere?
I think my Mother would like a few big name shops but would probably rather something more particularly Danish?

The closest town is Vejle which is about 40 min by bus from
Billund Airport.
Ribe - Denmark's oldest town - is a nice idyllic town, but is 2+ hours from Billund Airport by bus/train with changes.

i don't know much about them, they are an older couple, maybe 40s-50s, live near the
city center. i was trying to think of something that is native to the states, something a Dane would shop for if they visited here. any thoughts? Sees candy?

Then I would definitely choose Statens Museum for
Kunst :)
