Violent assault by staff/owner...
Published (2009-11-14 09:16:00)
Many thanks for that, I've posted a review on the Paphos Eating site that would burn a hole if it were paper. I am calming down now after reading some of the other restaurant reviews that we go to that have got outstanding reviews whcih has cheered me up no end. Obviously I was not the only one and I suspect there are quite a few others with perhaps not the wherewithall to take it further. Come on lets get this violent thug shack closed...

In my experience the Cypriots would always help you if you were in trouble. Sorry it has shaken you up so much.

None of those recommendations are adult-only though I'm afraid. If being child-free is a must, check out the reviews for the Athena Royal. Can highly recommend the relaxing atmosphere- particularly lovely in June.

Hi We have just got back and we got a shock when it rained like it did. Have never known it at this time of the year. We were there at the time you are going 2years ago and came back with a nice tan and never saw any rain although it was a bit windy. Think the weather has been a bit unpredictable everywhere just lately. Hope it stays nice for you.

Hi Al Thanks for that. I know exactly where you mean. I just got some euros today, and the best I could get was 1.03, so 1.11 sounds great. Sorry you had trouble, hope you aren't too badly hurt from it. BTW Im a Sunderland lad, now living in Cumbria !! Best wishes Danny

Atlantica Club Sungarden Hotel
Published (2009-11-12 05:25:00)
Booked for 11 nights 25th August - 5th september and paid £3000 for 2 adults and 2 children, which considering the prices now seems very good value, right place right time and all that, very lucky. I just hope there is no xmas sale on and the prices go below the ones we paid!! Still i am happy with what we paid for this hotel and like you glad i booked early. Because of a really bad holiday experience last year which has just been featured...

We were in Limassol in July this year and it was hot but not really really hot. It was about 30 -32 but apparently this was not as hot as it normally is in July. We normally go in May or September but didn't find it too warm in July this year. Drink prices vary from place to place. In the bars in the tourist area they would be about the same as in England but in the hotels and some ...

A very disturbing incident indeed. and a pity it could not be reported as you were close to leaving . However some generalisations in your account -
'a violent and lawless island' - no it is not.
' a medieval culture takes over ' - no it does not
' now in the EU they cannot have like this' - true, but even before Cyprus joined the EU this behaviour ...

Hiya,
Blue spice is a lovely restaurant, They have a great choice of Veggie dishes which is unusual in cyprus believe me, but they also have great meat dishes too. They are a combo restaurant/ art gallery which is Ramdom. They also have a pool for customer use so there maybe a few Randoms wandering around in their Bikini's.
The food is great, But Blue spice is ...

Hi, your ship will dock in Limassol New Port where there is nothing to see but ships and containers.
Best thing to do it take the no 30 bus or a taxi to the Old Port/Old Town. There you can have a walk around, visit Limassol Castle, do some shopping, have lunch etc.

I haven't stayed there, but have been on the beach. The beach is very nice, with different areas to sunbathe in , including thick mattress beds, pergodas and water coolers! Certainly looked like guests were well catered for from the outside.
On the same road as the Merit is Tervetuloa, which does good meals which include excellent mezes included in the price. We went there ...

I'm surprised that the Mikrolimano don't appear to be answering requests for information. Its a lovely typical taverna. Google Sirena Bay - its a lovely little cove only 5 minutes from The Golden Coast and they do weddings and receptions. Alternatively the Polyxenia Isaac is due to re-open if it hasn't already done so and that is lovely.

2 km is 1.2 miles
Yes it's walkable along the pavement also there is a paved beach path from the Athena to the harbour. I don't think you would want to do it every day, there is a good bus service that runs every 15 mins

Hi Danny
It's a bit variable at the moment around £1 equals €1.1. Having said that, you'll find that many things here in Cyprus are more expensive than the UK so if you work on one for one you won't go far wrong.
The things that are notably cheaper are cigarettes (just under €4 for 20) and petrol or diesel for a hire car. Diesel is €0.83 currently.

I'd say maybe the Faros, the Anesis or the Nestor. Been to them all and they are central with a good mix of families and clubbers :)
