Forget about the spell check. It won't happen. There are plenty of them about for free, just put 'spell checker for internet explorer' into your web browser.

Excellent advice from Gengen, as always. Here are places where you can rent a casa on or within half a block of the beach for around 25 CUC/night: Playa Baracoa, small fishing town about 25 km west of Havana , 1 km off the Habana-Mariel freeway. Quiet boulevard runs along beach. Many licenced casas on opposite of boulevard, most with self-contained units, a few with own garden, patio, or balcony. No regular bus service to city. You would need...

You really need to decided where you want to go - Varadero or Holguin area....big difference. I would recommend Playa Costa Verde only because I love Holguin area so much but you will have a great time at Bella Costa regardless.

Don’t panic … it is not at all uncommon for a message not to get delivered at times. The server may be ‘down’; the in-box of the recipient may be full; or other technical glitches. Just because something worked a few times, doesn’t mean that it will always work. Wait a few days and try again.

I suggest you reserve any nights you spend in an hotel in advance because the price you get here are a lot better than what you would get when buying directly from the hotel. Sunwing usually have great prices for Cuba. As for the casa, it is a good idea to prebook for the first night, so you don't have to rush out of the airport. But for the rest of the trip, it's not a problem booking as you go. Most of the time, you casa owner...

thats how I felt about Brisas Caribe...if you go to the reviews of Doradas and click on "rating" it will show reviews from 5 stars down to 1 star...then when you have read all the good reviews...STOP! don't read any negative reviews...you will make it the best you can with what you are given...and you will have an awesome time. The beach is the beach, the weather is the weather, and the food is the food...the Cubans...

Good Evening,
We stayed at the Dorados a few years back, loved the hotel and the beach was amazing, only problem we had was we loved staying on the beach till the sunset, which meant we always went to the 2nd seating for dinner....well....there never seemed to be enough food. It was like you where picking thru what everyone else in the earlier seating had left. That was our ...

If you want to get a laugh out of the locals - especially the poor musicians - make one like mine... "Si me vuelven a tocar la Guantanamera... los mato!"
(Play Guantanamera one more time and I'll kill you!)

There was a lot of talk about this whilst I was in Cuba at the same time as you. It appears they may continue with the CUP but will replace the CUC with this new currency and it could be as early as January.
Of course there has been speculation in the past about the dual currency system and nothing came of it so we'll have to wait and see. I've 95.60 CUC so I hope it doesn't ...

No it's positioned within what I would call the Santa Lucia area...but I know what you mean about the hotel name. It could be that the person who flagged this on google earth got a little off track with the positioning...it's still quite a long ways away from the Holguin area. But if this isn't a hotel/resort it would be interesting to know what it really is! From space it has all the...
