Columbus Zoo in Winter?
Published (2009-12-13 10:53:00)
Yes, the zoo will still be lots of fun around that time. The annual Wildlights event runs though Jan 2nd. They decorate the entire zoo with thousands of lights and have all kinds of holiday displays and shows. There won't be many animals in the outside areas, but all of the indoor viewing areas will be open. Here's some information: http://www.columbuszoo.org/events.aspx

Columbus Zoo in Winter?

Hi - The Tripadvisor Forum People are the BEST! I always get such ideas from all of you! Here is my question: Is the Columbus Zoo good in winter? We will be there a little after Dec. 26th and would like to know if it will be too cold to enjoy most of the attractions. Thanks!!!

It is super easy. You would just use I71. Really easy to get to both places from it.

just so you aren't misled, the Drury Inn on Nationwide was recently built (probably 3 years ago?). It isn't a restoration of a historic building. I'm sure it is a nice place though. The Hampton Inn is kind of half new build/half historic.

They are all pretty much the same. I would say the two that are fairly new is the Sawmill rd location and east main st location, so I couldn't say for sure about those. I can tell you though that South high and the Easton locations get the crowdest on regular days and are veru high volume stores, I've been told this triples on Black friday. Some are predicting things will be diffrent ...

I'd look in either the Polaris area or Easton area. Easton will be a little more walkable than Polaris, but both have newer hotels (most of your upscale chains) and plenty of restaurants. Polaris has an indoor mall, Easton has both indoor and outdoor shops. Both areas will be fairly safe and are both right off the freeway... polarisfashionplace.com/info/information.cfm...

Probably more to do in the Polaris area, a plethera of restaurants, although traffic will be a nightmare there around x-mas, as there is a large mall there and many stores. Very easy freeway access, but traffic backs up on the major free way exiting to Polaris. Both areas are very safe. Because of the traffic, I would opt for the Dublin area.

There is no Embassy at Easton, it's about 6 miles away in a corporate office park near Westerville, pretty quiet area, not much else around there, you will need your car for restaurants, etc. There is another Embassy at the airport, again, all corporate stuff around.
