Sigh....Araxi for me too. I am a bit worried that it's so frequently recomended that the expectations may be raised beyond any restaurants ability to deliver. I love BB's suggestions. If putting together your own tour seems a bit daunting you can try one of Whistler's Dining Tours. http://www.whistlertastingtours.com/ More for the over all experience than stricly the food; The Crystal Hut for fondue on top of Blackcomb....

I recommend to every man or woman over the age of 40 that believes that their skiing is going downhill because of age and younger injury's to start skiing on twintips with wastes of 85cm or more. They turn just as tight as the carving skis, they will not beat you up, more forgiving, and the fun of the trees and bumps comes back again. Your knees, hips, back, and more importantly your skiing will love you. THINK SNOW JB 8-D

Exactly the same, just tell them that you are getting in to pray. I don't pray neither, just medidate and then enjoy the scenery and look at the tourist groups.

Hi MaggieMae57 This forum is primarily about the country of Canada in general. You would be better to post your question on the Canadian Rockies forum, where you are more likely to receive qualified replies. tripadvisor.ca/ShowForum-g659487-i11598-Cana… "does anyone know anything about dog sled tours..." Last year's average High & Low in August was +21 Celsius & +5.8 Celsius Best Regards

Hi MaggieMae57, As already stated the roads are great here during the summertime (we only advise folks from warmer climates without SIGNIFICANT Winter Driving Experience NOT TO DRIVE during our Winter Months... generally November thru April, and then to rely on Public Transit for their own safety). Otherwise, seeing Canada by car is the best way to really enjoy the country and its magnificent beauty.... as you`ve already discovered public...

Hello! The highways are major trans-Canada routes (lots of truck traffic), paved, well-engineered and graded, generally two-lane (one in each direction) with passing lanes where applicable, with speed limits ranging from 90 km/hr to 110 km/hr. (Have a look at the satellite view on google maps - www.maps.google.com - in some areas you can zoom in close enough to see the paint markings on the roads!) If you want to go on dog-sledding tours, you...

BDJ ~ It looks like you have already registered your son at Zoni School. Is that correct? You will probably not know the homestay family until he gets here. Not all schools release that information. (And not much information about your son will be given to the homestay either!) You can ask to have some choices of homestay by asking to know more about a few homestay families before the school assigns your son. Most homestays are good, it is...

I remember the first snow squall of the year, and it was October, but it was around the 10th or 11th. I know it wasn't the 25th, There were definitely cruise ships at the terminals. It came down fast and furious for about 20 minutes late afternoon, turning the sky almost pitch black, but it wasn't 4 inches.

I don't know where you're from but restaurant prices in Vancouver are some of the most reasonable in both Canada and the USA. Hotel deals abound on the net as well. Nothing is free though-even petro dollar rich poltroons from the distant Oil Kingdom of Al-Ber-T'ah say BC stands for Bring Cash.

Hi, Maybe someone else will have some actual experience they can relay, but in the meantime here are a couple of other options: adventureweekly.com/awp/… http://www.planetlaser.ca/ All of these places seem to be way out in the 'burbs, so you'd better plan on having a car to visit them. good luck, B&J

3 good things: 1. Walkable, safe, vibrant downtown core. (I guess I'm cheating; that's three right there.) 2. Truly diverse population, with about half of area residents born outside Canada. 3. Lots of museums, galleries, shopping, and (especially during the summer) festivals to keep you busy. 3 bad things: 1. Over the winter, it's a lot colder here than ...

TigerKatt Some of your comments are puzzling. Take the "Cheticamp route " for the Cabot Trail? There is only one Cabot Trail route and it passes through Cheticamp , period . The Cabot Trail is the ONLY highway from Margaree Harbour all around northern Cape Breton until you return to the Highway 105 or ferry to Englishtown. Why would you go to Pleasant Bay, well , it has the ...

Congratulations, Laura, on your engagement and upcoming wedding! The Canadian Rockies national parks are a wonderful place to honeymoon, and there are plenty of forum "regulars" here who will be happy to answer your questions and help you make plans. A lot of people are under the impression that camping in a rented RV is a "budget" option for holidaying here in western ...

I have not really heard any negative feedback about vrbro or Allura direct. The jury is still out on agencies like RentfortheGames since they have just started operating. It seems you were satisfied with your previous Allura rental? I take it you are looking specifically for condos? Something to keep in mind is that a large number of the hotels in Whistler actually have ...

This might get you started, considering what your options are; http://www.yvr.ca/en/getting-to-from-yvr.aspx If you are arriving late after a long flight and just crashing before you go up to Whistler , consider just staying at the airport hotel and taking the Pacific Coach directly from the Airport to Whistler in the morning? It will save you lugging your skis and ...

I wouldn't recommend it! We moved back to Ontario in January of 2002 and had a u haul truck, hit lots of storms. So unless you have 4x4 no a good idea. Also the drive through the mountains not good. Have family that live near Kelowna and the connector road is always shut down, which takes you to vancouver, which then you would have to make a detour and who knows how long that would ...
